I forgot who it was who mentioned the health benefits of ACV.. But i finally bought a bottle of it and chugged a good “shots” worth this morning. I know theres a ton of different reasons i should have it online and a million ways to consume it but i was wondering what everyone else on here thinks about ACV? and is it supposed to be drank straight or diluted? THANKS!
I’ve had it and think it’s nasty. I had it mixed with a bottle of spring water. About a spoonful like @Oliverjava had said. I would rather just shoot it down in one shot as opposed to milking it in a bottle with water. But that’s my preference. On a side note I love french fries drowning in vinegar and fancy myself some salt and vinegar potato chips. But for now I prefer freshly squeezed lemon with water instead.
I read somewhere to go with a tablespoon. I used to do shots of it with a teaspoon of turmeric but it was just too much. Try adding turmeric and cinnamon to it they are anti inflammatory and cancer fighting. I have bad tendonitis in my right elbow and using turmeric and cinnamon has really helped me be able to use my arm.
Thanks a lot @thebeard1986 i have heard of people adding turmeric to all sorts of things. I will try this tomorrow morning
that looks good. I would take out the lemon just as preference. and add an orange maybe. i wonder how it would taste if i just added it to my regular tea.. idk lol
Has anyone used it to help clear up acne? Inquiring minds want to know. Lol. My face is getting so bad all of the sudden. It cleared up real nice up until about a couple of weeks ago.
My teenage daughter drinks it diluted for health reasons, and also makes it into a skin treatment with cotton balls. She will only buy “Bragg” brand ACV. I’ll have a sip here and there, and use it on salad with EVOO.
@ShellyP that was why I started doing shots but it didn’t realy help. I get acne on my chest and back, the best remedy so far has been cutting dairy (as much as possible because a life without cheese is no life at all) and using theratree body scrub.
@Steve92 you’re welcome, just a heads up turmeric isn’t the greatest tasting spice but it does seem to work.
I haven’t cut all dairy, but I’m a big fan of almond milk! I get “original unsweetened” great with cereal. It’s lower calorie, high protein, and no cholesterol.
Thanks. I have also cut out dairy , not happy about that either. Lol. Well I use almond milk now with coffee. It’s pretty good actually. Maybe it’s just another phase of my body detoxing.
I use the cashew almond blend. It’s a little thicker in my morning protein shake. Black coffee unless it’s iced. Has anyone tried vegan cheese? I’ve been interested but not sure what brand or style to try.
I would dilute! I put a couple tablespoons in a cup of warm ginger tea and squeeze half a lemon. Vinegar is very acidic and can cause irritation. So good for you though!! Did you get the raw apple cider with the “mother” in it??
Hey Steve! I am huge fan of ACV but be sure to dilute it (2 tbsp to 8oz water or juice). If you take it straight, over time it can mess with your stomach lining.
I really like a capful or so in a cup of black tea with lots of honey (raw honey if you can). It’s also great to take it with water I’m first thing in the morning. It wakes me up.
I had a huge mole I got one of the flat makeup cleaner pads cut it and soaked the pad ACV, tape on it. Placed it on the mole for like 3-5 days and the mole fell off.
I also had planter wart on the bottom of my foot, did the same thing, and it was gone in 3-5 days as well. Tried all the OTC nothing. Even was considering a foot doctor.
Hey @Steve92 how’s it going with the ACV? I’m an odd one but I actually don’t mind the taste in my tea, I think it pairs well with ginger. And I second @JohnSee it makes a simple delish salad dressing.
But lately I’ve been having Suja Drinking Vinegars. They are bottled drinks with “Blends of organic Apple Cider Vinegar or Coconut Vinegar with the mother still intact, plus four billion live probiotics in every bottle”
They’re really tasty if you can find them near you. Not sure if you like Kombucha but these have similar tastes and health benefits without the trace amounts of alcohol that kombucha has.
@kiki And it’s pretty simple too. I put 1tbsp EVOO and 1 tbsp ACV in a big bowl. Add some S&P, & spices and wisk it together. Then throw some greens, tomatoes, etc on top and stir it up. “Instant” salad and only about 150 calories.
I missed this post before…I just wanted to say to be careful with drinking it straight. It IS really beneficial but too much can cause some erosion in your throat. I make sure to chase it with some juice right away to wash away any excess acid. I also use it in cooking a lot.
I’m loving the acv so far. I take a shot of it straight every other day and I feel great afterwards. Really wakes me up and helps my stomach in the mornings. I’m going to have to experiment with different methods of ingesting it but I really don’t like the taste lol the salad dressing idea is great what other spices do you use besides s and p, evoo and acv?
Depends on the salad for me but usually some finely minced garlic (Raw garlic has shown to have amazing health benefits as well including lowering blood pressure & cholesterol) Any fresh herbs will do well like parsley, I have an abundance of chives growing in my yard so those usually make an appearance. Whole grain mustard mixed in is really good, really depends on your personal tastes. Jeez, OK now I’m hungry.
