NASA’s Orion capsule splashes down on December 11, 2022:

And exactly 50 years ago today is when astronauts Eugene Cernan & Harrison ‘Jack’ Schmitt touched down on the moon on the Apollo 17 mission.

Now, back to the moon… and beyond! :rocket: :new_moon: :ringer_planet:

It’s funny you mention pilots - because they are key witnesses in the US military’s 2021 report about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (the American phrase for UFO; it’s the same thing):

The conclusion isn’t much - it’s basically ‘we have no idea what these are, but they are unusual enough that we think we need to study them more’ - but it is interesting :+1:t2:

The nuclear fusion break through will be huge for deep space travel if we can develop it… makes me think of the expanse, fricken loved that show.

I saw that article about fusion too! I agree with you. Huge potential. I’m excited to see where this goes :+1:t2:

Cosmic girl rocket drop is occurring in approx 30 mins, launch plume may be viewable from UK soil, coming above the horizon after approx 8 mins following the rocket drop.

First of its kind to be launched in the UK.

First step to a human hydration station in the outer solar system? Maybe. Whatever comes out of this it will be exciting :star_struck:

Finally! Oh this is so exciting
This reminds me of the movie Europa Report.

Any Europeans up at 03:00 GMT two nights ago? That is quite a sight (check out the video in the article):

Well, the general consensus is that the vast majority are not extraterrestrial, but still it’s nice to have Canada start looking into this too:

I was listening to them talking about the statistics that we could have anywhere from 8-2900 systems that potentially have earthlike planets in our galaxy that could have lifeforms. The issue is if they are more advanced than us we won’t ever know because they can just shield themselves from us knowing. They do believe there are type 2 civilizations with the recent studies from the James Webbs telescope they believe they’ve found at least one Dyson Sphere already. Crazy stuff isn’t it?

That’s wild! I hadn’t heard about that. There is so much out there. We’re just at the beginning :star_struck:

Popular Mechanics has an article about this theory. Whatever is blocking the light from that star has to be huge:

Yeah it’s really interesting how these discoveries come about! there’s been a lot that has defied our understanding of physics within one year of that telescope being in space. I know that they can tell when a star is dimming and lighting, it usually signifies it’s running out of energy, going to supernova or dim and sink into it’s own gravity and become a neutron star! if it’s a big enough star with enough mass. But yeah when they found this NASA immediately thought something was up hahahah so cool!

Its insane to even imagine how big a Dyson sphere could or would be, what it’s made out of to sustain the ability of harvesting star energy, but we are at a point where we have to leave these hypothesis open because there is a good chance that’s exactly what is happening, especially since our civilization know that’s where we are wanting to go as well. I love outer space man haha

I remember the first time I learned about what a Dyson sphere was, I was watching reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation and they had an episode that was all about it:

I love outer space too, it is super cool. There is so much going on. It blows me away how much water there is in outer space too: whole moons covered in oceans with many times more water than we have on our world; asteroids and comets and all kinds of space debris with ice just floating around, it is incredible, like oases in the desert giving us what we need to keep the caravan moving.

A few months old but intriguing.

Where is there more water than all the oceans of earth combined? (many times over) Jupiter’s moons!

I’m watching the launch live now
