Oh my gosh I did it!! I got one of them to walk on to my arm and walk up to my shoulder!!

At 10.30am, the runt of the flock turned up alone . while I was finishing getting dressed to start my day, he sat with its head facing inside my window watching me. This is one of the flock that is super comfy with me.

So I put an almond in my left hand and put my right arm out under its legs to incourage it to step on my arm. It tried to bite the coat sleeve once to see what it was , then it proceeded to step onto my arm and walked all the way up to my neck n shoulder!

I feed it the almond, then it walked back onto the window. When it finished the almond it came running back up my arm again !

This continued on repeat for about half an hour. Then I said to it, this is the last almond, I have to go out now, come back later on OK… It literally squawked back and flew off, it was like it under stood me!!

I couldn’t get a proper photo with it on my shoulder because every time I tried to hold the phone up my body moved and I couldn’t hold the almond and phone at the same time coz it spooked him and it wouldn’t sit still…

This is the best I could get pic wise. I will work on my approach :joy:

Great progress!! Happy!!

OK this arvo was loud and messy and rowdy and just hectic!

14 turned up… They were eager and demanding today. A couple of them snipped at me because I couldn’t hand out the almonds fast enough so some tried to snip at me while I was feeding another… After half and hour I had to shut it down and cut them off and call last almonds because there was just too many of them and they were fighting each other for the almonds…in other words, they were greedy AF today :joy:

Mayhem :joy:

I knew word would spread fast. At this rate, your visitors are going to quadruple in no time. I wonder if you close down the cafe for a day or 2 and maybe just a few will return when you open back up.

Ah so pretty! You are very lucky to experience them. I’ve only ever seen them in zoos here as a child… I love the little dance they do, its like they are dancers in Brazil at carnival :joy:

Our ones would come sit with us and feed outta of hands. I’m fortunate to live on the land literally… Lived on the land my entire childhood as I’m from a romany gypsie family.

Great guard birds!! How cool!

@apes2020, open those windows too much and you will have lots of new roommates!! How are they not pooping all over your window?? Or did I miss that?

I am excited to share your pictures with my grandson when he visits, he loves all animals very much.

Your thread always brightens my day. Thank you.
