Baby birdies thread ❤ And the cockatoo crew ❤

This morning I put out white rice for them to see how they will go… They went nuts for it!

I think they like rice became its a tiny bite size and its easy for them to eat because they don’t chew there food they just swallow it.

Only cost me $1.40 for the rice so that’s a budget friendly day of feeding!

The following photo may affend some viewers :joy: contains gore and goop :joy:

So this morning I went down to the garden to refill the bath tub and seed bowl… Whilst I was down there I looked up at my window ledge and who do I see? It was the little boops partner in crime, sitting on my ledge, and I look up to the entrance of my window and I see a little feathered tail disappear into my apartment!

I stood there and watched while the partner in crime stood watch, the little boop proceeded to explore my apartment for about two minutes :joy:

Then back he jumped out just as he seen me outside watching the window entrance…

I went back back upstairs to see the mischief he had caused… He made it into my kitchen…he left evidence on the floor the cheeky lil boop!

They are so smart and sneeky… They waited till I’d left the apartment to fly in and explore and hunt for food :joy:

He is so smart. After about 6 months of us hanging out, he is so comfy with me. He isnt jumpy or scared. He is very playful. He likes to explore my back pack and he tries to jump on my shoulder from the back of me. He hangs out for at least half an hour when we are In the park

This morning something beautiful happened… Mr crow introduced me to its baby! I’ve seen the baby many times before but it never came near me… This morning Mr crow was actually feeding it right in front of me… I crushed up the almonds very tiny and Mr crow took them from my hand and feed its baby right in front of me. Like an arms distance away… There both soooo comfortable around me! Mr crow completly trusts me it seems

So I’m going to try and train the baby. Now that it knows me and is comfortable with me. I think it will be more impressionable and easier to train …commence project baby crow :joy:

Your encounters with the birds are so amazing and beautiful. I’m so happy for you that you have this joy and wonder in your life! It is a sight ( for me ) to behold.
I spend a lot of time money and effort feeding birds and I really can’t imagine any of them coming up to me. Perhaps I need to sit and be still and put feed out right in front of me.

Another magical moment has happened!.. So the family of myna birds that live outside my with window and my garden?.. Today I opened my window to discover that 4 (!!!) Babies have arrived from there nest! The mum and dad brought them down for the first time!

They are about the size of my big finger!

They can’t even fly properly yet lol.

They look like fluffy baby chicks lol :joy:

I watched them stumble around the garden for about an hour :joy: the mum was bringing them worms to eat

I have four new babies to train! :joy:

Photos will be flooding this thread very soon no doubt lol :joy:

I cant believe four made it down from the nest… With all the preditors around the garden , I’m surprised they made it out of the nest alive…

What a Christmas miracle… Four new babies!:heart::heart::heart:
