Let me hear the best advice you’ve ever received?! Can be recovery related, life, kitchen, gardening, anything!!!
Good advice is sometimes hard to find
My favourite is: ‘the best things in life aren’t things’
Let’s share advice people!!!
“You need to get help”. That’s it, saved my lfie
Sometimes that message can be received in different ways. (Depending on who it’s coming from) I’m glad you were open to that advice!
Excuse the crudeness…
“The Fu€%in you give ain’t worth the Fu€%in you get”
Kinda aligns with Karma…so memorable advice for me anyway
I don’t give a shit how you feel, I only want to know what your doing about it!!
Don’t take criticism from people you would never go to for advice
Is it true…
It is necessary…
Does it help…
Talk to yourself like you’d talk to a friend
“Ask yourself this question: will this matter a year from now?”
Good one
Love this!!!
In recovery
During detox, I felt like death. My substance abuse counselor said,
“see this feel this, experience this, and remember you never have to feel this way again”
Oh, there are so many to chose from…
Do you want to be right or do you want to be happy?
Let go or be dragged.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Pick your battles (especially pertinent with teenagers).
Always check the flue before lighting a fireplace.
Use birth control.
Your most important relationship is with yourself.
I’ve heard this a few times more than I should have, my sponsor reminds me all the time, where did “being right get you?, oh being right back in detox”
Be the person you needed growing up
I added some more. But yeah, the being right thing is great not just inrelation to our self and sobriety, but in relationship to others as well. A good all around one!
I can’t believe you said it…
I told my son when he met his first girlfriend, if I am a grandparent before 60, rest assured your life may be in danger… he took it seriously.
Best birth control ever
Lol, I was the opposite and so hoped to be a young grandmother, since I didn’t take that advice seriously enough myself.
Fair enough
Feel the feelings…to which I amend it to say: honestly, wholly, and unapologetically.
