I read through your posts in this thread and I have to be honest - I am on board!
My diet history started with 13 I think. I am 39 now. I lost and gained between 40 and 60 pounds several times in my life! Lowest weight was in 2019 and now i am somewhere in between. I am through it allā¦ Restricting, undereating, overeating, night eating, zero eating, fasting, only shakes, cowl soup diet, pineapple diet, low carb, keto, high carb, starch solution, raw till 4ā¦ok letās end up here!
I want to make peace!!!
I am on 70 something days sober from alcohol. First 6 weeks I just excluded focus on weight loss TOTALLY to have my power to get sober! Eating healthy, regular, doing lots of sports, but no restriction, no measuring, no counting. Result was not any binging at all and not gaining weight. I even lost 8 pounds last few months.
2 weeks ago I stared focusing a bit moreā¦
First week was not bad, dispite of night snacking. Second week was a desaster nearly. All old patterns reactivated. Eating things just because they are healthy, not eating at all, measuring, countingā¦
Finding myself back into snacking each night and binging a whole pack of dark chocolate pralines on Friday!
I will end this now!
This is not the way.
This is not how I want to live my life.
I want to have balance and overallā¦
Have a peaceful relationship with food.
No more excluding food groups,
no counting,
eating regulary,
eating slowly and enjoying,
pay attention to my hunger and my daily preference.
Yes, I still want to loose āfew pounds here and thereā and it will take longer maybe to get there ā¦ But healing this disorder behaviors is so much more important and a lifelong way to go! In balance and peace.

Welcome to the thread juli! Thanks for sharing your story, sounds like you have tried a lot of diets, all of which didnāt give the result you hoped for. I think a fair amount of us could relate to that. I hope you find this thread helpful/inspiring.
