Just wanna suggest the Merlin app. My fiancee and I use it to identify birds by their song. Then you can add them to your list.

Recently we randomly met this lovely elderly lady deep in the woods when we were hiking. She appeared from nowhere with her friendly little dog. We started to converse and then she produced the Merlin app on her phone. We listened to bird song together and chatted. Such a fabulous app!
