Sweet little hummingbird, we have a ton of these flittering around. I think it may be a Broad-Tail female
Broad-tailed Hummingbird Selasphorus platycercus
-Some of these common seasonal migrants nest in parts of southern Arizona, and others are just passing through on their journeys further north. A majority of the broad-tailed hummingbird population resides in Mexico and Guatemala most of the year, but are common throughout much of Arizona from March through August.
I adore our Lapwings! Do this variety mimic and make crazy little noises like they are remote controlled and using a voice synthesiser? They are elite birds!
And that Hoopoeeeee… Dream spot for me, not managed it yet. Where do you hail from?
Yes the lapwings make crazy sounds and dive bomb the cats around our area. They compete with the massive crows for elite divebomber status.
There are so many hoopoes near us. I call them dinosaur birds because they look prehistoric to me
I’m now noticing birds more after reading this thread
I saw one of these flying above my car as I was driving this morning. Never heard or seen it before and they aren’t native apparently so it’s part of a feral population that used to be part of a zoo: African sacred ibis
