Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has read any books on recovery they could recommend?
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has read any books on recovery they could recommend?
I’ve read books on sex addiction recovery (my addiction) but I’m not sure they’d be as relevant for someone not recovering from sex addiction.
There is a good list of recovery books here:
Thank you Matt this is great.
I found these books helpful:
This Naked Mind - Annie Grace
Dry - Augusten Burroughs
We are the Luckiest - Laura McKowen
Quitter - Erica Barnett
Between Breaths: A Memoir of Panic and Addiction - Elizabeth Vargas
These are the ones on my current reading shelf. See picture below.
I’m currently reading “Never Enough” by Judith Grisel.
The other 3 in the picture I will read next, in no particular order.
I researched recovery books before getting them, and these are the ones I heard good things about.
What do you think of Never enough so far?
I much enjoyed Leslie Jamieson the Recovering. Enjoy reading!
I like it. The beginning was capturing, but it’s getting a little boring, but still very informative on how addiction works in the brain.
I’m a little more than half way done.
Hoping to finish in a few more days.
She covers a wide array of substances in the book.
Not sex addiction, but she touches upon a lot of drugs and alcohol.
Thanks
I’ve read quite a few quit lit books, my favourite so far is Glorious Rock Bottom by Bryony Gordon. I say read, I tend to listen to the audio books, this one is good as she reads it herself and she’s quite funny with it.
