Day 16. Been busy this weekend so havnt had time to really type.

The only challenge I had this weekend was being at California adventure and seeing people just drinking… made me wish that I could be like that.

I’m at a variant of the AA goals, say tomorrow is the day for a drink, then keep pushing that off for the next day.

I’m telling myself, make it to summer and you can have a drink, when I get to the summer I’ll push it back some more.

If I think that I’ve had my last drink I’ll freak out.

My goal is for the summer for now. Hopefully by then I’m stronger and will not even care to drink anymore

Day 1 sober. I spoke with my sponsor, I received encouragement and consolation. We prayed together. Probably I will go to a retreat next week

Well done for avoiding nasty conflict with the patient you mentioned. Walks and talks are great solution for such occasions.
Keep it up :hugs:

Okay, at my first Smart Recovery meeting.
Here 20 minutes early, so I have to wait for it to start :mantelpiece_clock::compass::stopwatch::alarm_clock: Why am I so nervous :weary:? Geoff; don’t answer that :stuck_out_tongue:

Still moving forward. My seasonal job has ended so I’m back into my normal routine :slightly_smiling_face: I have time to get back to the gym and I sure needed it!

I am not sure how it went since I don’t have a reference point. The person teaching the class indicated they were trying to figure out Smart as well. They read through pages in book for lesson 9, but skipped over the exercises. There is another meeting on Thursday where they were not sure if they would do lesson 9 over or move to lesson 10. Me and another person said we would hijack Thursday and demand lesson 10.

Is there someone familiar with Smart that can say what the format is? Not sure if online is better?

I did like interacting with other people though.
There was some good discussion in the meeting.

The only person I know who goes to SMART meetings is @Frantasticooo

Any Insights Fran?

PS: she’ll be fast asleep right now!! (It’s past 1am for her)

PPS: I think the interaction is the best part of meetings. In AA, it depends on the meeting ’type’…but I find most ‘real’ interactions are after the meeting.
