Wow, that sucks!! I am glad you are okay and sober!!
Is that the culprit in your photo?!
Dear goodness, @JamieG. I’ve been drug by a dog before. That’s rough. Glad you are okay.
Sorry for your loss, @Francisco1. One of my rehab buddies passed last month. The day she got out of rehab she overdosed. I’m sorry for your loss.
Saying goodnight or good morning to all. Appreciate the check ins.
It is one the assholes. That’s the small one.
He looks smug.
Thanks. It could have been worse. I didn’t lose an eye, a tooth, or a limb! And hot tea is very comforting.
Looking on the bright side is helpful!!
How much are we allowed to use profanity here??? Lol
Quite a bit.
Thank you! Not sure if I’ll feel better or worse tomorrow but I know I won’t be hungover.
And fortunately they didn’t hurt the other dog. Scared the s#%t out of its owner but no one else was hurt.
Day 14
Sober growth mindset. A plant I thought I lost is coming back. We have to keep coming back. Had a fight with my husband last night. Me sober is a new thing to him. But he supports me. Still it’s hard for both of us, all these changes. But I show up. Every day is a new chance. Grow.
Wow! That’s horrible- great job staying sober after that day!
Love this!!
Well halle-fucking-lujah!!!
My third dog (not on the walk this morning due to his senior citizen status) is laying behind him.
Culprit #1 (aka The Instigator) is not pictured.
Im sorry to hear that. If I were you, I’d invest in some e collars. My half shep/ Belgium Mal needs two collars due to his high drive. It works though. If he becomes an asshole, which he does, a little press of the button stops him in his tracks and refocuses him on my commands. Make sure you get food ones though. Some have delays in them, but good ones are instant.
I use e collars on both. The Dogtra 1900.
For the working lines like my guys and Malinois,
they are a must.
Both dogs had them on this morning too since our walks also involve a big field and off-leash work.
I had the big shepherd’s set at his usual level for off leash which is always higher than his obedience levels.
But when he went after the other dog he didn’t respond to the correction ar all, even at constant. It wasn’t until I was on the ground and had my head pulled out of the fence that I could increase the level to a point that got his attention.
I should used a different collar to attach the leash to instead of the silly martingale I had on him. Figured the e collar was enough. Clearly it wasn’t. Lesson learned!
Next walk will be different.
But thank you!!!
- Winding down from a long day. Woke up angry and anxious for some reason today. I made it a point to avoid social media because I knew I would yell at someone ahhhh. As always after teaching I’m in a much better place mentally. I think I’m just coming down with something so its messing with my head.
This week I started reading 7 habits for highly successful people upon suggestion of some fellow school owners. So far it’s a good read.
I’m also in the process of planning a trip to Dallas for a professional seminar in April. Last time I attended one I was drinking so this will be a new experience.
Have an awesome evening my friends!
