@Englishd, I’m so sorry for your loss Derek. I have no words.
- Yesterday, after a long drawn out 35 minutes of job hunting, I managed to secure a job interview on Monday to take over a pub kitchen a couple miles from where I live. I’m really proud of the preparation and hard work I put into my career the last year to give myself that kind of ability; it’s a luxury that I’m really grateful to have despite the year that just passed and it feels like all my labour is paying off. What I was saying a few days ago about channelling good vibes into more things other than sobriety, I think, is exactly what I need to do. Readiness is imperative but preparation is key - Execution is pointless without readiness and readiness is pointless without preparation. …Listen to me go on lol Just do it properly mate!
I feel you! I am on day 6 and so want a day to sleep and meal prep…
Congratulations!!!
Is there a signature dish for the Pub?
Or Is that something you have to create?
Made it 6 months
It’s been eye opening, and I feel like I have grown and learned a lot about myself. I’m looking forward to continuing the journey. Thanks TS
Day 33. Happy to be sober and happy to be here with all of you.
There isnt yet. It’s totally stuck in the 90s. I’m writing a few menus this weekend for the place but if they want a signature dish, I’ll create one for them
So so sorry for your loss
Hey, do you wanna talk?
This is great news Josh. Chance for you to show the world what you’re made of mate. At last all your hard work is paying off. Maybe?.
Please hang in there… keep you and your sobriety first no matter what anyone thinks or says… you are the most important right now. If you need to talk please feel free to message me… know your not alone thtu this… one breath at a time…
Thanks Geoff Maybe not the world but certainly the East of England, just outside St Neots.
Awwwwwwwwww….how cute
Well we are due a visit to my brother in law’s soon. He’s moved from Norfolk to Suffolk so perhaps we can try and plan to get lunch on the way over or something.
Are you going to be on your own or is there a small team for you to mold into shape?
Sounds like a plan to me I hope I’m not going to be alone!
You’re right. You didn’t force this pills down her throat. Right now focus on taking care of you and staying sober. Getting high right now would ultimately make things worse. There’s no real answer in going there. I believe deep down you know that! I believe you have it in you to keep taking the next right step and doing the next right thing. Don’t give up on yourself. I’m not giving up on you!
D360. Countdown to 1 year. Just about there without a drop of drink. I never thought I’d make it here but one day at a time. You hear all these cliches tossed around here, at meetings or support groups. Maybe even at counseling or therapy sessions. But no matter how trite these phrases may sound, they keep us moving in the direction we need to go. To live a good life. To live a healthy and rewarding life. To thrive!!! Here’s to sobriety. Thanks for the community spirit TS offers.
Amazing, that’s such great news! Are you still in MK or did you guys move out of the area?
Edit, nvm, saw the answer to that.
Hey, 7 days clean from heroin and meth is awesome. What have you been doing to help get and stay clean so far?
Sorry to hear about everything that’s going on right now, it sounds chaotic and difficult. Can you carve out some time and space just for you and your sobriety? Do you have any NA meetings nearby? Otherwise there is www.intherooms.com as well as here of course.
I hope in time you can get where you need to be with your family. For now does it help to just think about keeping your side of the street clean? You can’t control anyone else, only how you react to what comes up in front of you.
