Day 33. Head cold from hell continues & gray rainy weather is the same. Blah. Stocked up on a variety of meds to clear this up, countless shower soaks, etc. I even started drinking tea!

@crystalclear I laughed when I read, “I’m a white girl in the US and don’t drink pumpkin spice.” Just hit me as funny. Today I would rather have Texas temps instead of 50’a and rain!

Step 3 is nothing more than a commitment to work the rest of the steps. Have you talked to your sponsor about this?

Day 22
Good morning all!!! Happy weekend!!!
Going for what looks like a short wet ride this morning. Also the heat is dissipating. We are going from 95 to 72 for a high in one day. Looks like it is officially the end of summer. Normal starting place is all decked out for Oktoberfest.

@Mno step 2 is simply believing that other people have gotten sober using the steps. Have you met with your sponsor about step 2?

11.58 days… Tried sleeping without the assistance of Benadryl last night. I was in and out all night. No biggie, it’s Saturday. I’m allergic to cats and dogs. My daughter always lets her shedding dog on my bed, thus the Benadryl. My perfect little dog does not shed :joy:

I see a few people on here trying to quit coffee. I’ve been doing the same since Monday for a skin and gut experiment. I have to say it’s much harder than I thought. I only drink coffee when sober. I can’t tolerate it when drinking.
Anyway, I had a damn coffee dream last night. Really? Not a booze dream like a normal alcoholic, a freaking coffee dream.
I’m really on the fence about it. I have rosacea, which coffee supposedly flairs up. I also had my gut biome tested and for the love of all that is good and holy, coffee showed up on my no no list :sob:

Happy sober Saturday folks!!

@NewEngland same weird crap in NC. We were at 98 yesterday and today we are only supposed to hit 70.

My son is in Boston, and I noticed the temps when I checked the weather this morning. He’s looking forward to coming home (Florida) for a few days next weekend for sure!

I drink New Orleans style coffee. It’s coffee with chicory. Less caffeine and chicory root is supposed to be good for the gut. It also tastes better to me, less acidic/bitter.

@NewEngland Your mom is my spirit animal :joy:
I’m originally from NY too and I hate the cold. Did a 10 year stint in FL, maybe that’s why. I bundled up in sweats last night in preparation for the big 70 degree freeze lol.

I’m not familiar with Emerald Isle. I live inland, Charlotte. I do love it here. Short winters, but at least we get seasons unlike FL

I grew up in Minnesota, but you’d never know it. I keep my AC set at 78…because lower than that is cold.
