Dude, shut up.
You’re driving me crazy!
I don’t think it turned into a “shit storm” I thought you brought a bit of light to the forum.
Thanks
Sober life is my best life too!! Well said.
Holy crap! I’d ask what your workout journey has been to look that awesome… But I’m already exhausted just thinking about what it might entail. Coz it’s probably more than just getting out of bed
Thanks! I’ll check it out when the popcorn is ready
Gotta eat to get some gains!
Took me way too long to learn that. Now I eat like a horse and look 10x better at 30 than I did at 20.
Whatever, man.
@NewEngland … thank you! I have bookmarked AND taken a screenshot
I am ignoring the exercise stuff, for now
Way to go James, good job on keeping on…
Checking in on day 83✌️
Day 5 and just got in from a great aa meeting. Was so lovely to see my lovely friends who have helped me so much in my journey. I’ll definitely keep going back . Need to work hard on gaining my days back and not take recovery for granted x god bless you all x

Every minute of my day is made more enjoyable by being sober. Some minutes are ONLY enjoyable because I’m sober.
Thanks for your thoughts. I tried smart and like it but it just isnt as accessible as AA where I am so it may as well not be there at all. I’m going to stick with AA and just keep turning up to meetings until I hopefully start to feel something. It’s a weird one because it feels like without step 3, I cant move forward with the rest of the programme. But at the same time going to meetings helps get my mind right for not drinking so I guess at the moment I dont need to move forward.
Hi Hanna,
Russell Brands book Recovery translates the steps into VERY easy to understand, relatable language (warning, he uses some…many… cuss words, lol). He’s done loads of talks around it too, many you can find on YouTube.
I’m reading it at the moment. I like what hes done with the steps but brand being brand he likes to vanish up his own arse with nonsense a lot throughout the book!
Yeah, I think being a comedian and also a self-confessed narcissist he’s done his best with what he’s got and expressed it in his own way, that hopefully many ppl can relate to I personally love his sense of humour and find his honesty and vulnerability a breath of fresh air, his book has helped me a lot.

You mention “I do feel as though I’ve lost a spark, and at times it feels like I’m drifting further away from my Self”. I know what you mean. I feel like I’ve hit my joy ceiling in life. @TMAC mentioned the same thing in his posts. Things do not have the same shine they used to. I am not sure if it is getting older, a side effect of my addiction l, or something else altogether. I am not sad, I just feel like I am drifting through life. Hopefully it passes.
Hang in there and know you are not alone in your feelings.
