Checking in daily to maintain focus #10

I know this doesn’t help but the urge passes. I had a couple this week but I realize it wasn’t me really wanting to drink but the old habit that’s still hanging around. I washed my car and biked. It’s so not worth it Paul.:gift_heart:

I’m sitting here doing nothing either. Just hanging out on this community, feet up and relaxed. Just take it and enjoy and you will get through it, maybe go take a hot shower, or even better yet sometimes when I get into a funk I’ll hop in to a Ice cold shower and it snaps you back quick promise you won’t be thinking about that drink after a ice cold shower lol

Or anything for that matter, lol😅

Lmao I do it after my work outs sometimes I’m not fond of them but they do spunk you up and make you feel alive

Thanks Conor.

Can’t get rid of the booze, as my husband drinks and has no plans to quit. Hanging out with y’all sounds like a plan, though!

Well today was stressing and emotional. Has anyone else reached out for help from your inner circle and next thing you know they’re expecting help with their issues. Maybe it was their way of distracting me or it’s time to change my approach. Am I being selfish maybe. Time to improve my boundries. Gratefully still clean and sober thanks to my addiction and mental health counsellor and my higher power. Sharing this feels a little strange but helps to get it out. Wishing everyone a safe and happy 24. :v:&

Day 24…
Today wasn’t one of the better days. Nothing major happened but the Anxiety go to me today. I really wanted to get relief but I refrained from buying a 15pk. Instead I got a Mt Dew and A Chesapeake Chicken Slider. Not one of the better days but checking in feels like an accomplishment at this point!
Stay Safe Everyone!!!

24 days is great Ken; that 15 pack would’ve made you feel bad at the end of the day. I’m going to have 30 days tomorrow, I hope I never feel another hangover again!

Shit, I almost missed your 60! Its crazy to think the time has passed already. I’m sure you are having that strange feeling of time taking forever yet not believing how much has past. Weird, isn’t it?

I gotta say, Mike, I’ve had faith in you since your first day here and I have even more faith now. You are a great asset to this community and an inspiration and reminder to me everyday. Keep leading the way in your new, crazy life. And NEVER stop learning. That’s the biggest joy about living a sober life in recovery, we get to truly learn and grow again!

Congrats, brother. You’ve earned it.

sigh So I had a relapse Yesterday. I’m disgusted with myself cuz I felt I was making real progress. I like frustration and other things cloud my judgement so I guess I used that as an excuse to use.
But that’s okay I’m a dust myself off get back on my horse continue to ride!!
I’ll make sure to checking every day so I can see where others are at and people on here can see where I’m at and just Reach Out and how give me some motivation.
As it said one addict helping another.
