Checking in daily to maintain focus #11

No problem. I am on day 28, now tied with my best quit ever. Soon i can say one month. The difference is last time i only wanted to want to quit. Take pride in each day spent sober. They are truly blessings.

Late day check-in.
Hopefully everyone had a great Monday!!!

Very powerful SMART meeting tonight with Ohhivi as the facilitator.
Dealt with some extremely heavy topics.

One quote from the meeting:
“If you are not using this time to rest, reset and prioritize your purpose and people in your life, you, my friend, are wasting an opportunity you may never get again. The world literally stopped and shifted for you to get your shit together. If this is torture for you, find out why."

The weight of the chains, at the length I had them, essentially just creates additional weight on the lift…but, if you have it a bit longer than I did, the chains add weight as you lift because they become uncoiled from the ground. Weight lightens as you lower the bar, and increases as you raise it.

Another element is the sway of the chains causes you to tighten your core to maintain balance on the bar.

morning, bit of a nightmare last night, everytime I try and get sober I dream the mafia are going to kill me, odd, it’s OK though I hid in a chest freezer for 6 months until things cooled down. Find some peace in your day and be strong.

  1. Was supposed to have a small bbq with my sister in her allotment/garden. Turned out she just found had she was running a fever again after been tested positive over a month ago, being sick for 3 weeks and been better and working for a week. So we stayed 15ft apart, talked for 10 minutes and I left again. Bah.
After I got home I immediately felt sick, sore throat, elevated temperature. Crazy how the body can react. This morning my temp is back to normal. My throat less soar. On we go. Sober and clean. @ifs Glad to see you checking in James. Hope you’re OK. @Fargesia_murielae Have a good trip and safe trip home friend. @Bomdhil Yes. @SoberWalker Pretty pic. Success with your foot :sunglasses: @Dolse71 Good to se you, better to see you sober Paul. Keep going. @everybody. Have a good day all. Love from my sister’s garden.

Hi @Beardy_McTallman totally get that, I am used to either massive highs followed by extreme lows, I found it hard to deal with a standard day, one of the things I took from my relapse, I got bored because nothing was happening, I was almost missing the drama (madness). Combatting it now by ensuring I fill my day with positive activities; reading and learning, exercise etc. As these things I could not do properly when I was not sober. The important thing is working on liking ourselves again, I always disliked me, but realise by doing small, good things will hopefully change my outlook. So please have a good normal day

gosh being on the boat through this must be so strange. Good, you on way home albeit long journey. Yes, lots of decisions have not made sense whatsoever. Very sad about the crewmember who lost his sister  must be so heartbreaking that he could not be there.
Safe homeward bound journey…

Day 15

@Mno take care hope your sister is ok. What a beautiful garden she has

@Dolse71 really good to see your more positive mindset, certainly makes all the difference
@zzz you back and seemed to have learnings which are instrumental
@Bomdhil good you here :fist_left:
@GVLNative have an easy day, a very good quote from your meeting!
@ifs great days hope you ok…

Raining in the UK, just walked the dog, feeling calm about the interview later, not doing too much preparation today, going to do my ritual of cold water, meditation etc to set me up mentally.

Stay strong all :four_leaf_clover: :100:

that is an early wake-up Jane no wonder you are exhausted. I was drinking 15 large mugs of coffee to replace alcohol but knew it was too much, but struggled to find a decent replacement and still am. But I have cut out my “take to bed” coffee and all the ones in between lunch and dinner and do find I am having a better sleep. But do need the two or 3 min to kick start morning. I know you have probably tried all the normal stuff meditation etc. Is the new job causing the anxiety?
On a positive that bouquet is stunning, impressed you kept the vase upright and I can see your van
Take care…

Totally get the isolation thing, I have friend really suffering as she lives on her own and it has got to her. Anniversary’s are always difficult and naturally our moods swing. You will get through it…
