Checking in daily to maintain focus #21

  1. Back to the GP in a mo. Will spare you the details. In general I’m OK. Painted my living room ceiling yesterday. Quite a job. So getting on with stuff. Sober and clean. Have a good day all! Love from Amsterdam.

Day 110- no smoking
Day 12- no pmo
Ok, so I started working out 2 months ago. Yesterday I did a light back workout with my brother, he jokingly said let me see your back gains. He also took a picture.

I was like “WTF this is me?! I don’t even train that hard”. So I guess I have good genes.

I use italki too, it is good to get native speaker contact if u live outside Japan, and good to get specific guidance if u do live here. For me I usually need some goal like jlpt, I feel a bit lost now I’m not studying for it.
If u want to get some listening practice, check out the song 香水, it is everywhere atm, and the lyrics are pretty straightforward.

I’ve heard that the mere presence of a dog sometimes drives rats away. Perhaps borrow one while waiting for the pest people to come?

I feel for you. I’ve had to deal with rats in a living space only once in my life and it wasn’t extremely bad, but I was just so utterly disgusted I never want to deal with it again.

Don’t know why I found this funny but steps kinda work like that don’t they??

on a serious note I’m also doing my steps and it really can get emotional at times, I know the book says ‘we launch into action’ but 10 minutes meditation now and again doesn’t hurt. If some things are upsetting just step back for a few minutes. Well done on your sober days :hugs:

Haha ya you are right steps do work like that! Yes, meditation does help when I can settle into that place :woman_in_lotus_position: I have been sleeping a bit extra lately to manage and I’m okay with that for now… Thank you :yellow_heart:

Day 353. I’m awake too early. Total sobriety is still a really positive thing for me and I’m grateful to this forum for the support and structure to keep on track and stay mindful.

Day 94
My body is rebelling that I am not taking care of it as well as I should. Not drinking is a start, but it isn’t everything. After a talk with my sponsor I had a drinking dream for the first time in yonks.
