Thought I’d do a real check in tonight.
325 days without a freakin drink!!
325 days without a freakin hangover!!
325 sober days walking the dogs.
Cheese omelettes and hash browns for lunch.
Football all day while I did some Christmas decorations
Gave wifey a hair cut. YA I DID!!!
Talked with our best friends in Austin on the phone.
Pulled pork bowls for dinner.
And just a little energy left to clean my filthy stove.
Y’all rock! Stay safe and sober my friends.

Day 146.
Other than the fact that it’s a sunday night, I got no complaints. 
It’s always so good to check in at the end of the day. Not sure if anyone else around here recalls the Waltons? If you’re old enough? No matter what went down each episode, it always ended the same… “good night John Boy. good night Mary Ellen.”
Just like us, ending the day sober. G’night all.

431 Days. There’s just not enough time in a day and days in a week to get everything done. I neglect my house during the week due to exhaustion from work, meetings and taking care of my daughter. I try to catch up on the weekends and it’s over before I know it and I never get it all done. I can’t seem to get a handle on it all since getting sober. I never had this issue while I was using because the drugs gave me the energy to keep up with it all daily. I was like super woman. Something has to give and I can’t figure it out. I know drugs and alcohol are no longer an option.

I suppose u need to take a hard look and what NEEDS to be done and what CAN be done. Are there things that could be skipped or delegated? Especially if u are used to doing everything yourself, it can be hard to realise that u don’t have to be, and can’t be “superwoman”.

I’ve been doing the things that NEED to be done but I haven’t had time to get to the other stuff. Unfortunately, I have no one I can delegate to do the other stuff. My daughter isn’t capable and my husband has a hernia and is need of a knee replacement but working 7 days a week himself. I’m considering taking a few days off from work just to get caught up. It seems to be the only option.

Could u permanently delegate some things at work to give urself a few more hours for things on a regular basis? Taking some time off will help for this occasion, but am just worried another backlog will just build up if there are no changes to ur responsibilities.

That’s something to consider. Another dilemma is the 4th quarter at work is the busiest and they frown upon taking time off. I’m going to do it anyway. I’ve earned the time and they can’t deny me.

The Waltons. Don’t know I’m glad to be reminded of this bit of my childhood. And have them mixed up in my head with this other western family from my youth I’d rather forget about. Thanks Emm.

It was so sweet I lost all the enamel on my teeth (to use a Dutch expression) watching it. So they’re the reason for the questionable state of my dentures today

- Coffee. Two late shifts left before a looong weekend off. Thinking of some chores to do before I have to go to work today. I’ll be preparing my bedroom, hallway and bathroom for the paint jobs I have in mind for them I think. Gotta keep moving or I’ll lose interest in doing it. Very grateful for being clean and sober and so I have the energy to do it. Have a good week all! Sober and clean. Love from my living room. As promised here’s the view after redoing it (@Lisa07 and @Jennajen). Still needs some small touches but rather happy with it.
