Oh the times I ask myself this. And in the wise words of MrT 'I pity the fool ’
It gets easier. You are not depriving yourself of anything by not drinking but alcohol was depriving you of a normal happy life.
Day 96. I hope everyone has a safe, sober, and happy New Year! In spite of driving rain, the neighbors are already out and about with the fireworks, so Max and I are going to hunker down and try to sleep before the real mayhem begins.
@Nordique, congratulations on 200 days!
@RosaCanDo, I always look forward to your posts on here. And Chucho is family, not just a pet. So please keep us updated. Max and I are sending hugs and prayers and tail wags.
Love that game…kick some butt
Were you losing
730 days today…just relaxing until my meeting tonight and then to my sponsors house for a gathering of people in recovery. The next time I check in I will have 2 years clean and being in Hawaii we are like the last people to see the new year still got like 9 hours lol. Hope everyone has a safe a blessed day/night
Wow amazing great job
Day 19 for me. Glad that I chose to stop drinking almost 3 weeks ago. Definitely helps with the NYE temptation. And I’m personally glad to stay home with Ohio’s curfew, that way not putting myself into a situation of temptation.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Wow. Truly the shittiest of days. Had to have a co-worker hospitalized for suicidal ideation/planning today. So heartbreaking. Pouring a topochico and squeezing a lime into it. 40 days behind me.
Sorry about your day and friend.
Hugs. Glad ur friend was stopped.
Yay Kaeo! Happy 2 years to you! That’s amazing. I hope you have a great celebration/gathering tonight.
And @Nordique 200 days! Wow. I like what you said about the majority of the year being done. Sending best wishes that Side B of the tape is full of smooth sailing tunes!
Thank you so much but I still gotta wait another 7 hours…lol
I was told I can’t front…lol
He ate his dinner and has been better tonight! Thank you, lady!
33 days! Hope everyone has had a good/sober new years!
Day 185.
Not gonna make it, guys. Can’t stay awake! I wanted to clink posts with you all, in my time zone for real, but the whole stay-up-late thing in years gone by was obviously fueled by my motivation to keep refilling my glass! Sigh. Glad those days are getting smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, one day at a time.
Checking in to say a huge thank you. I’m humbled and grateful to be a part of this community. Thanks to those who welcomed me when I first showed up, and to all of you/us that show up and share, no matter your # of days. Every sober day is a win.
And before I check out for the night, for the year, I also want to give a big shout out to…
…all of us. I’m so effing ridiculously proud of you, of us.
We did another day. Let’s do another one tomorrow.
G’night, big love to all.
Amazing. So proud of you!
