Was that really you who said that to someone? I knew those were not my words and they were posted by someone else about someone else but I couldn’t remember who. But when I read it back whenever, I knew I’d never forget that statement and I’d be pulling it out on someone.
You have a wonderful day Tony Eric.

Oh, I am sorry for the recent problems you have in your life. You seem clear about your decision. Happy you are back. I always appreciate your thoughts and insights. :pray:

It may not have been my message that you remember, but I have certainly said something very similar to someone else.
I’ve been thinking about it all day, actually - how it troubled me to see someone else do it, and how easily I did it myself. I wonder how many other things in my life I do this with?
This is the kind of thing that just passed me by when I was drinking. I wouldn’t really reflect on it, it would just drift by in the haze. I love my new, functional brain.

Checking in at the end of day 152.
Had a lovely evening at home with (most of) the family. Our youngest is staying over at a friend’s house. He was so excited, bless him. :blue_heart:
Homemade pizzas and Ocean’s 13. What could be better?!
Have a great sober day, wherever you are.
Goodnight. :sleeping::zzz:

Hey, it’s nice to see you checking in but I’m so sorry about your break up and other struggles. I do hope you will find right people to help you through this time. No need to be sorry about lamenting. Life isn’t all fairy dust and daffodils.

Day 122. Over 4 months now. Do I still want a glass or two of wine (or more honestly more) every now & then? You bet I do. I had a garage sale last weekend and also sold my 50 year old collector Mustang car. Was feeling nostalgic in my goodbye to “it” and wanted to toast to “it”. Such memories. Didn’t drink but … and life goes on. Hope everyone is still healing & recovering themselves too.

298 days no alcohol.
266 days no cocaine.
3 weeks no binge-eating.

It was so hard to force myself to the gym and swimming today after taking yesterday off, but I knew that if I didn’t go today I’d probably never have gone back, so I went, I didn’t enjoy it, it felt like hard work, I think that is partly to do with the sudden change back to dull and rainy weather here today though after a delightful few days of sunshine. Proud of myself still for going and doing it, will rethink ever taking a day off again though, even if I just do the swimming on therapy days, in the morning, and have a day off the gym, I think it’s important that I do do something every day.

I am already anxious, because I have agreed to visit a friend next week for the first time in her new place, and for the first time since December, it’s her birthday next week and she got a new kitten today. I am anxious about driving there, it’s about an hour away in a place I’ve never driven to before, and I am anxious about not having much to talk about. I am also anxious that she will be drinking as it’s her week off work. I’m sure it will be fine, but if it isn’t, I just won’t go again I guess. I’ve got no worries about the drinking triggering me at all, I just don’t enjoy drunk people’s company :man_shrugging:t2:

I keep forgetting it’s Friday, and that amazes me because they were always such a trigger/excuse to go harder on the substances, so grateful that they eventually became just another day :raised_hands:t2:

Wishing you all wonderful weekends :blush::blue_heart:

I hope all is as good as can be, Jane. We’re here to talk if/when you’re ready. I know well the feeling of Day 1. I know the courage it takes to pick yourself up too. Nothing is lost but a number. Each day sober is a miracle so go easy on yourself and find your stride again. :yellow_heart::v:

Checking in today happy to be sober heading into a 4-day weekend after my shift tonight. I feel confident today that I won’t drink, but I am very cognizant that some of the big triggers are quite possible this weekend. My mother’s dependence on me is a struggle and although I have established a lot of boundaries, she is very slick and loves guilting people and passive aggression. She also hears 25% of what is said and makes up the rest so mole hills become mountains quickly and conversations that should last 5 minutes last 45. I have caregivers lined up for her 24/7, but when they are unavailable I fill in the blanks and even the coordination of that drives my blood pressure through the roof. That said, my plan for the weekend is to engage in as many fun activities as I can, exercise a lot and connect with people very frequently. I also plan to use this forum frequently to stay inspired by other sober people. I’ll use the breathe app, the pelaton app and my podcasts and really focus on what is the next best thing I can do to stay sober and healthy.

Day 40
5.58am
Saturday
1 degree
Lockdown day 9

Woke up at 5.20am naturally. I feel like I need to spend more time meditating longer this morning. Even though I’ve been home for 9 days, I haven’t been commiting to my morning meditations everyday. No idea why. I think I’m going to start rising at 5am from now forward. I’m in bed by 9pm lately so I’m in a good routine to push myself a bit more and get up at 5am.

The last few mornnings have been so magical outside walking in the park at dawn. The leaves are all yellow and are all over the ground. Its cold and frosty. There are dew drops everywhere. Its just so so pretty to walk through and adore. I thrive in winter. I definetly don’t hibernate. I was definetly not a bear in a past life :joy:

I missed OTP zoom yesterday. I set my alarm two hours later than class time by accident and missed it. No idea how I did that. Im never tardy and never miss class. My brain did a whoopsy lol :joy:

I havnt been triggered this past week which is great. I’m feeling good. These past 40 days have flown by.

@anon83587935 I think I missed your 300!? Congrats!! :tada::tada::tada::tada:
@Beforemy30s 50 days yay! :hugs:
@Soundlab matt keep on that horse :pray:
@SoberWalker you do you! Your body your choice :hugs::tada:
@Hopedealer Ryder 60 days amazing ! :pray:
@Bomdhil Thomas stay strong :pray:
@Ceeds welcome back Jane :heart:
@CATMANCAM tyler the same think happens with me if I miss a day at the gym/Pilate’s, its hard to go back after I miss a day. Just remember how good you felt after the days you went and get yourself back there as early in the morning as you possibly can. If I get it out of the way at dawn, its done for the day :hugs:

1032 days alcohol free. I’m stuck between wanting to go to concerts but also not wanting to be around hundreds of people again… 2 people at my job who were fully vaccinated caught covid. What a world. Happy Friday. Feeling tired and depressed. But this too will pass:thinking::thinking:
