That’s what addiction does. That’s why we need each other to break the cycle. Don’t try it alone Kelly. Let’s do it together. We’re here.
Checking in on day 39
Day 5 (I think- my sober app starts the sober start mid day)
Went to CrossFit today and cooking a healthy dinner. I’m thankful for the exercise & the good food. Something I could have never done with my addict controlling my day/night.
Thanks to everyone on here for being a constant inspiration and place I can go to when my addict voice gets louder.
…1249… Making beard oil. Ms. Monkey bought me 3 new containers, as she liked the different ones I had. She just thought something nicer than travel bottles were needed.
It got me thinking to the beginning of my sober journey. For me, it just was not 1 action that got me sober. It was a series of things that got me to 1 year sober. This place, AA, prayer, and I had to keep myself busy. I had to fill my days off with new activities. Drinking had to be replaced with other life activities. One of which was making beard oil, beard shampoo, body wash. Took me a long time to run out of what I made.
Might seem silly…but making beard care products was on of the things that helped me re-learn how to live.
If you are constantly relapsing, are you filling up your life with sober activities?
Stay sober friends!
So hitting 3 days sober after coming back from a relapse after 60 days sober. I feel stronger this time around so lets go again and be open minded, willing and into action, the day i fail is the day i give up its also a honour to meet you all. STAY STRONG KEEP FIGHTING
Love your name Danny, never give up.
Welcome to the family!
Welcome Danny. Congrats on your 3 days.
We got your back should you need it.
Great job Rosa, congratulations on your 100 days of freedom.
So happy for ya.
It sounds like you got some good ideas in place with the sitting with the feelings and not reacting. It’s been an on going job for me.
Keep up the good work.
Chica
Checking in on a sober night looking forward to a restful sleep. For those of you at Day 1, we will be here for your Day 2 cheering you on. You can count on that.
I have reached those “what is the point” moments and relapsed on numerous occasions. I know that even when I have felt stagnant, it feels 1000 times better than what I felt after I picked up. Being bored, quiet, and underwhelmed serves me in spades in comparison to the fresh hell I feel after going down that path again.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for reading. Peace y’all.
Always love them
Checking in 22 days no alcohol and 268 no weed. Can’t believe I went to bed last night without checking in on my three week mark!! Feeling good.
Got my new generator in my back yard today. They spent the day moving power out there and taking the gas up from the utility closet to the attic, then out down the back of my place. They will be back tomorrow to finish things up, then the gas company has to come out and change the stuff out front to handle the extra load. Then we get the pipes out back inspected, and I believe we are in business after that.
My cat was super stressed out and I spent half the day comforting her. Honestly, there was a time that I would have found the whole thing so stressful that I couldn’t cope without a little extra help.
I don’t like strangers in my house. It’s my space and I’ve always been one to prefer routine. These days things are better for a lot of reasons. I’m also really excited to have a generator! Once the zombie apocalypse comes, I will still have warm showers, AC, and heat!
@apes2020 2020 has to be good for something!
@RosaCanDo 100 days! congrats!
@050Nl That is a beautiful instrument.
@Harold congratulations on your 500 days!
@zzz Every journey starts with a day 1
@Thirdmonkey Those are nice bottles!
@DontGiveUpTrying Great job on three days! Time to beat those 60 days! You’ve got this!
You can adjust your start clock. It took me a bit to figure it out but eventually I got it to 5AM when I woke up that first day I started.
BTW ~ checking in for day 4.
I never could figure out how to adjust the start time in the Sober Time app. I ended up using a different timer. edit I finally figured it out.
Thanks! I had just figured it out. My clock is correct now.
Boom shakka lakka!
Checking in, with my coffee. Another work day. Not drinking have been going good. The first days was really bad, but after its been going very ok. But the last days I have been feeling so very dead in the morning, like a hangover, but sober. After a coffee its good. And had such headaches every nigth. Anyone else had like this after few weeks sober?
Day 10!
Its almost 6:30 am here in england. Feeling tired today this is partly because ive only had one day off between two 5 day working weeks (bring on thursday then i have four days off!) And my sober journey.
Keep having bad dreams. Not overly bad just not nice. Cant remember them all however.
Have a great day!!
The first 6 weeks or so was a roller coaster. Sleep was rare, night sweats were abundant, headaches aplenty. It’s tough sledding at first, but when you get past this time, the sleep is amazing!! Keep going, it’s coming!
