  1. 2 kiddos are back to daycare. I’ve gotten so much done already today! I am excited for the weekend. It’s crazy my boys who are both in Middle school one in 8th grade and my youngest in 6th grade both are super excited for Homecoming tonight and I’m just not sure how I feel about it! It means they’re growing up :rofl:! My oldest son said it’s a good thing you’ve got all these kids to keep you distracted from that otherwise you’d be home crying all day! He said that and we just laughed so hard. I hope you all have a wonderful day TS family.

Thanks for this share, maybe I need to adjust my sleep schedule because I am not able to sleep past 2 (or 3 am on a good day). Get to bed early and when I wake up, start my routine. :raised_hands:t6:

I have struggled with insomnia off and on most of my life and have had some gnarly bouts with it lately. What I’m trying (and seems to be helping a LOT) is to follow some simple rules for better sleep hygiene. I know this is unsolicited advice/suggestions, so if you’ve already tried this type of stuff just ignore.

  • No food after 8 pm
  • No caffeine after 4 pm
  • Avoid watching a tv series or movie that I’m excited about right before bed (it stimulates my brain!)
  • Develop a nightly wind down (instead of “wine” down :roll_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:) routine. I take even just a few minutes to jot down what is in my head or what I was thinking about during the day so it’s on paper and that helps keep me from ruminating on it. If I can’t sleep and my mind is spinning I will turn on the light and write it down and try to lay down again. I turn the lights on low, avoid all screens and sometimes read or listen to a meditation or soft music.
  • If I am really struggling I will get up and make some tea and read for a bit, then try to lay down again.
  • Take magnesium an hour or so before bed.
  • Try try try to go to bed at the same time and get up at the same time every day if possible.

I think there’s more but that’s the gist. I really tried hard to follow this this week and I have slept a whole lot better. Still some trouble falling asleep and I’ve woken up super early a couple times but it’s still better. Sorry for going on about this but I know how frustrating and lonely it can feel to have chronic insomnia. Hope you see some improvement.

424 days no alcohol.
392 days no cocaine.
30 days no binge-eating.

I can’t believe I’ve made it to 30 days without bingeing. This is the longest I’ve made it unsupervised, during therapy I reached 36, determined to surpass that now too. It’s not easy with cravings and dreams pulling me towards junk food, but I’m in the right headspace at the moment. Focusing on the hope that my mental health will really benefit not just from losing weight, but as an add-on from the weight loss, I’m hoping I’ll get a bit of confidence again to start going back to the gym and swimming, and I know how much that benefits me physically and mentally. :pray:t2::crossed_fingers:t2:

3 years of sobriety af today. It’s been a journey and an education. Today it’s even a source of joy. I’m more ok with myself than I’ve ever been, dare I say at peace (at least this very minute). I’ve learned that what happens to me is not what counts, but how I react and proact regardless of what might come. I couldn’t have done and can’t do this alone. I’ve my trusted sober pals near &far, professionals, networks and communities like AA. These all I list in my everyday chitchat with my higher power. I will need constant workout for the rest of my life, but find it kind of privilege to be able to grow up and search for balance as long as I need to.
Although I haven’t lately contributed much Im always grateful to TS, sober and sobriety seeking fellows all over the world. Stay strong, don’t give up, keep adding those numbers from zero to infinity :hugs::muscle::heartbeat:

If you don’t feel confident enough to go to the gym yet… Try doing some workouts at home or outside. There alot of exercises you can do without visiting a gym.
Maybe that way you can built up some more confidence before excaly going to a gym!

Checking in, 336 days no alcohol, 86 days no smoke. Most of my day was good, school was closed due to elections, so I spent the day with my daughter, we had a walk in the forest and had some fun at home. Yet I’m feeling down, my dysphoria is worse than ever. Also I got cancelled from a past event back in my homeland as if I hadn’t even been there, and it hurts pretty much. I know that it’s unfair, yet I just want to lock myself up and give up on being part of society.

Three years Sober AF Hanna!!! That’s bloody humongous! Enormous congrats lady! One of my big inspirations when I first got here and my sobriety was all new. Forever following in your footsteps. One day at a time. Big hugs, much love your way.
