Day 489
Recently, my least favorite classes are going better. I know the students’ limitations and can support them. I am also narrowing focus onto the key things I want them to do, and leaving the rest.
Got super ticked off at the husband yesterday. Basically he left me to do some complicated admin, which obviously would be easier for him as it was in his native language, because he was ‘too busy’ but then volunteered to help his brother-in-law (also a non-native)with something! I do understand that the brother-in-law asking for help was a guise to hang out, but I think my husband should help his own wife before volunteering his time to someone else.

351 days

Yesterday was a complete write-off, no swimming or shopping, fell down my stairs with a coffee and my swimming bag in each hand. Felt every step, was so winded when landed. Had a sofa day as felt very bruised and battered but very lucky no broken bones… teach me to stop rushing everywhere… this morning still sore but take some aspirins be ok.

Oh man. Sorry to hear that Marie. I’m so glad your ok. I hate it when I fall. I always feel so stupid. I’m always looking at little other things instead of where I’m walking.
I hope you Monday isn’t too bad.

Into day 60. I slept a whole day away. Literally over like 20 hours of sleeping, kind of upset with myself for that.maybe my body needed it idk, much love anyways

  1. Coffee. Three late shifts ahead. Learned last week a coworker will leave quite suddenly to go into middle management. Rather her than me but still it gives me a little jolt of feeling I need to leave too. As I said before over here.
    Right now I feel I want to finish group therapy first, which will run till April. Or is that just an excuse? I know I’m bloody insecure about applying for something else. I know of my qualities and I know I grew quite a lot in the last couple of years of being sober and clean. I have so little to show for it in the real world though. I guess if I don’t try I’ll never know. Right.
    Krav Maga class was interesting. Feeling my shoulder a bit now. There’s another school that offers free trials, closer to my place. Going to try to do some there too and after that decide if I want to continue and start to train seriously. Something totally different from the norm for me. Which makes it attractive in its own right. Will see.
    Have as good a week as you all can friends. Make it sober and clean. It helps. One day at a time. Love from a grey Amsterdam.

And then it was Monday morning again!
It was a restful weekend. Now we are in the countdown to holiday break. This can be a hard time in schools. I will concentrate on staying calm.

Even though I start my days with a clear mind and good energy, I’m still feeling the anxiety of Monday morning and back to work. In the new year I’m going to work on some strategies for that. Perhaps I can invent solutions and sell them as I know most of the world struggles with this.

Trying again. Day 1. Downloaded This Naked Mind to my kindle to start reading tonight. I really need to learn to deal with my emotions instead of just numbing them. Trying to break years of bad habits. Not sure I’m ready for that.
