This makes :100: sense to me.
Hereā€™s something I havenā€™t posted for awhile. See what you think
There maybe be a couple of things that interest you here that worked for me. Take what you might want. Leave the rest for someone else maybe.

Great pics!
Ur doing so well Roland! I quit smoking just over 11 years ago  I had to tho due to my asthma (I would literally be outside smoking a cigarette in 1 hand and using my asthma inhaler in the other hand lol). Funny not funny I guess  Anyway, a few things helped me. I didnā€™t go cold turkey. I used the patch step down system and then nicorette gum for when I had intense cravings. I also would use lemon juice (strange I knowā€¦). A Dr at the hospital told me that it helps to change the tastebuds in the mouth when u crave a smoke by putting a few drops of lemon juice onto ur tongue. It oddly enough helped me. I also had to quit coffee for awhile cuz coffee n smoking went hand n hand. Iā€™d chew on gum alot. I also would plan activities for after meals or any time that u would normally smoke. Hope these help! Ur doing great my friend!

Do WHATEVER it takes to not use or drink Mike. Seriously u will be soo grateful tmrw waking up not having to reset ur timer, not to feel those horrible feelings of regret or remorse, not feeling like u disappointed urself or ur girls, none of it. Tell that addiction to F off! What is going on that is causing ur urges to use? Can u pin point it? Do u have a sober friend that can come chill with u? Lock urself in a room and donā€™t leave if u have to. U CAN do this!! Push thru. Ur a sober warrior Mike!

Remember Mikeā€¦ it might not feel like itā€¦ but the cravings DO pass. Deep breathe, distract, whatever u need to do. Call a healthy person, spend time with ur kiddos, draw, pray (if u pray), meetings (if u attend), pull out that recovery Toolkit and use everything in it that u have to beat ur addiction back down hugs Mike!

I have definitely felt like this and it has scared me. On days like this I dialed it right back to the basics.

So what got you through your first 10 days Mike?

For me it was taking it minute by minute at times, spending HOURS reading on here, going for walks, taking showers when I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin.

I didnā€™t have a sponsor for those first 10 days , if I did I would have been calling her because after I finally got one she was my best tool to get through tough days.

I also hope you make it through today. It was fucking painful watching you scramble to get back here after your relapse, I donā€™t want that for you again. You need to do much more than just hope for yourself today. Work for your recovery.

Morning check in
Day12
Woke up feeling off. But am slowly getting myself our of it. Morning has been decent. Got myself up even tho I was tired and went to the gym. Iā€™m striving for consistencyā€¦ progress not perfection :ok_hand: Just like recoveryā€¦ I am striving for consistency. In the past, today would normally be a tough day for me. My husband got paid today (and his cheque was bigger than usual due to his long hours at work) PLUS! ā€¦ he got his tax refund of almost $3000. And $60 that his coworker owed to him. So thatā€™s ALOT of money. And Iā€™m not even phased by this! I am just preparing myself for my hubby to say something about using tho. So keeping my strength up today and staying on my toes. In not using what matter what. Idgaf lol Iā€™m tired of resetting my timer and feeling like shit. Why spend $$ on something that does NOTHING for me but cause me pain and suffering. Pointless!!! Anyway, Iā€™m staying strong in faith today and staying close to u all and supports! Luv to all! Praying for those struggles today and congratulating everyone celebrating milestones :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
