Congrats on your four months, very cool!
4 months is a really big deal. Iām so happy for you!
Day 4 is so great!! Youāre killing it!
Amazing job!!
@Miranda thanks for the advice, usually I do drink tea, but I havenāt thought about that lately. I donāt like chewing gum, although that would be perfect for cigarette cravings I guess.
Congratulations on 30 days Johnathan. Well done!
checking in --DAY 10
I have Included 5 new habits just to engage myself and keep the focus, and all of them are daily basis ( no excuses in weekends)
- Meditation of 30 min minimum
- Reading books for 1 h minimum
- Walking 10000 steps daily
- Spending 15 min time in community forum
- Drinking 5 cups of green tea
Hey all.
Yesterday I had to take off work as my daughter was very sick. Thankful she is feeling a lot better.
My youngest is still with his Dad for a few days I miss him but also gives me a nice break from going all the time as my other two are older and self sufficient.
Will probably take my teens out for a drive by the lake later after I get off work. Will also let them drive in parking lot. Been teaching them.
Looking forward to getting my first soberity tattoo (I have six others). So this will be blessed #7. This Saturday. Nice too have little healthy rewards for yourself
.
Strong and Serene Sober 24 all.
Hey Paige
Congratulations on your 4 months. Blessed.
Your doing great. Sponsorship does wonders as we help each other in our recovery. We do it together not in isolation.
Love you girl.
Great day too youā¦
Day 581
Lunch, cake and chatting with a friend. Ended up in a bit of a fancy place, you know big plates, small food. Would NEVER go to such a place with family so it was a nice change.
Everyone else is in bed, but I am up with mint tea getting ready for my zoom book club.
Wishing for peace
I hate that i just saw this message. Bro, you absolutely do not let me down! I have been there, so many times. I fight everyday myself. The mental war we are in, battling our imperfections, we are all in the same boat! Get up again. Do not give up bro. This problem we have is extremely difficult to kick. I will help you get passed this, we all will get past this.
One thing: Dont let youself get buried by Shame/Guilt. Remember how our brain handles that, keeps you in the cycle. I would go back on our forum for PMO and look up those checklist. Bro iām at 118 and I re-read them weekly! 20+ years of addiction is so imprinted in our brains, but as we all know, NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO OVERCOME! One day at a timeā¦This week, heck today you start to get cravings, STAND UP. Close the Browser. Jump write on the talking sober app and start journaling. What got you to this point specifically today? Surfing? Anxious, bored? That self talk is everything. Ask yourself why you need comfort in that moment? And then play the consequences game. Just a few things i use to just get past the moment. Daily battle my friend, your definitely not alone.
Day 118
Just checking in. Everyone have a great day.
More of a laid back day today. Going to do homeschool with 2 of my kids and then just mess around the house some. Yesterday we took donations for Ukraine up to Denver. After a failed attempt due to ridiculous shipping charges I found a doctors office that is completely ran by Ukrainians in Arvada so we took everything there and gave them all the cash and some that people also donated to help them get it there. They all had tears in their eyes hugging and thanking us. The doctor is from Lviv, the admin and other staff from Kyiv. They messaged us last night wanting to meet our 3 ukrainian children. Felt good to help where we could.
Other than that just getting prepared for our youngests birth mom to come visit next week. She can be very tiring but we know how important it is to our daughter to know about her blood familial past. It will trigger our youngest son though as his birth mother who was like an aunt to all the kids passed away 3 years ago in a tragic accident on her way to visit us. So, I may take him on a mini vacation during that time.
Good morning everyone. I had a great sleep (on and offā:crazy_face:)with my 7 week old kitten snuggled up in my neck and my 6 year old pup snuggled up at my sideā¦ I was feeling the love
This kitten is crazy and taking all of my energy, but what a sweet distraction she is. Weāve been wanting a new cat for quite some time now and although itās a little extra stress I think she came into my life at the perfect time.
@paper_boats , I hope you had the restful sleep and have a super day today
@shilohRica , 74 days is great! I canāt wait to be there.
@Chikai , youāre doing so amazing! Good for you and Iām so glad youāre here.
@SadMemeQueen , Iām glad youāre seeing a doctor and I hope that you can figure out whatās going on.
@Dmcg1987 congrats on175!
@SoberWalker , youāre rightā¦āevery craving will pass eventuallyā
@Jonachav123 congrats on 30(31 days!!!)
@Lotusflower Iām so glad your daughterās feeling betterā¦ Driving with a teen! Iām doing that now too
To everyone else Iām thinking of you and I hope you have a great day! (Or a great sleep depending where you may be now)
Good luck with your visit next week and Iām sorry to hear about your sonās birth mother. I hope it isnāt too much of a trigger and that everything goes well. What a nice idea to take him on a mini vacation.
The more we talk about the more it makes sense to take him somewhere. This is the first time this birth mom will have stayed with us (sheās clean; just very young when she had her), but his stayed with us all the time. Itās been a tough 3 years on him from multiple fronts; may not be blood but somehow he inherited my luck.
Day 10 is amazing! I read your reply about reading my post and feeling similar way. I think so many of us share the same struggles and thatās why we can be here to support each other.
I think itās awesome to have those goals that you set for yourself. Have you meditated much before because I find 30 minutes so difficult!.
Just remember that your main goal right now is to stay sober so please be kind to yourself if some of these new goals are not 100% attainable right now. Iām not saying itās not great to have them, just from my own past experience too much pressure on myself to change too many things at once didnāt work very well either. Do whatever you can in the moment to stay sober but use some of those goals as coping strategies and if you donāt reach them every single day or on the weekends, love yourself anyway and just stay sober
Sounds like heās in the right place to be loved and understood and supportedā¤ļø
Day 641 clean and sober today. Thank you everyone for the Birthday wishes itās meant so much to me! Have a kick ass day today I love you guys!!!
