Checking in daily to maintain focus #41

Hello again, all.
Checking in towards the end of day 463.
Been getting a few thoughts about drinking recently, so decided it might be a good time to re-engage with the thing/people that helped to get me sober in the first place.
I’ve been reading most days, but it’s time to write.
Have a great sober day, wherever you are.

Day 668 clean and sober today. Normally my day off but I’m covering an early shift today. Tomorrow I go in to start the onboarding process for the new job yay! I really hope I can start there soon because there’s a couple of toxic people at my current job that make me wanna :face_vomiting: because of their yucky energy lol. I hope everyone has a great day today, love you guys!!! :sunglasses::metal:t2:

Yep. Lockdown restrictions are easing. Just been on a bit of a holiday with the family. Exam classes are just about finished, so my timetable will be much reduced. Halfway through the Easter holiday (spring break). A semi milestone of 15 months. Lots piling up.
Not to mention the time since feeling the Ill effects has made my resolve fade a bit. And my wife is still not really on-board with the whole thing.
Need to reconnect with people who get it. :blue_heart:

checking in on day 222. Still going great. This is the first time after many hospitalizations and periods of clean that I have had no cravings at all for the entire 222 days. I focus on my recovery by sticking to my structure. Working helps me because I have fun work. I enjoy my free time after work watching a movie or listening to music. Sometimes I visit family. I don’t have many friends because when I stopped using I stopped all the people I interacted with, all users. But it’s okay I believe that good people will come my way. And I have a dog so I’m not all alone. I also decided to go to an NA meeting again tomorrow. I didn’t want to continue with it at first after going twice. Thought I’d take a few steps back when I started the 12 step program since apparently I’ve already taken 4 or 5 steps of the program without knowing the program. But I still need people and fellow sufferers and I’m just going to discuss what I just said. I’m curious what it will bring. hugs…

Start of a new week. We had a close call yesterday evening. A wildfire broke out about 1/2 a mile from us. I got the wife and kids out of here while I stayed to monitor it so I could deal with the horses and other animals. It got to about 1/4 mile from us with nothing but dry pasture land. I was about to turn out the animals and leave and all of a sudden the wind shifted and started blowing away from us. About an hour later it was contained. We were extremely lucky. It burned 38 acres, 2 houses, and several out buildings. It was good being able to remain calm and approach the situation with clarity.

I wasn’t very happy about having to reset (almost two weeks ago now). You made it to day 60 though! All that is still true and sooo amazing!!!
Unfortunately for me, I had two resets pretty close to eachother and I think the second reset was based on the guilt of the first reset :frowning: sooo complicated. Anyway, I’m proud of you for not letting it go too far and for being honest with yourself and with us. It’s ok not to know how you feel about it. Sometimes it’s better just to keep moving forward. Thanks for your openness.

Thanks for checking in. The withdrawl symptoms will pass. Be patient and take extra care of yourself… Be gentle with yourself. It’s so good that you are trying to understand your triggers. I’m glad you are here.

Checking in on day 338 free from the insanity of active alcoholism. Quiet morning today. Got the kiddos off to school, hitting a hard Leg day at the gym right now, and working some stats homework later on this afternoon before taking my second oldest son to track then baseball practices. It’s a great day to be above ground and sober.
