Day 291
What a weird day lol I missed my alarm to workout. Was feeling sooo tired. Woke up at 7am to allow the nurse to leave her overnight shift. Still felt soo tired. Im a morning person so this is unusual for me. Hubby is home today from work bcuz its sooo cold so i was able to get a workout in at 930am. Im feeling a bit more energized now. Today i have to do some prep work for the cake. Nothing major. Thats about it i guess
Hope everyone is having an addiction free day!

Day 10. Been to a few AA meetings which have been really good. The problem is that my sobriety comes from a place of fear. Ive been reading that every relapse is worse and that alcohol is a progressive disease. Nothing could have been worse than how I felt 10 days a go so this scares me, anyone have any advice on how to make sobriety more of a positive experience?

Struggling with loneliness
and danger to be disliked.

Edit:
So what!
Life isn’t safe!
Not everybody has to like me!
I will meet a sober guy with a peaceful mind, being able to deal with my needs of both near and distance!
And:
I am fully okay on my own and with my own!

843 days no alcohol.
308 days no cocaine.

Ended up realising I spent the whole of yesterday thinking it was Tuesday, then when I realised that meant it was therapy day today, I knew I wouldn’t cope with being around people and travelling without cigarillos, so I bought more, along with food for today from the shop last night, then proceeded to eat all of that food! :man_facepalming:t2:

Anyway, today was spent travelling to and from my penultimate therapy session. The session itself went really fast. The therapist read out his draft of a letter he’s going to send to my GP, mental health services, and I’ll get a copy too. Hearing some of the stuff back was tough but I breathed through it. I expressed how anxious I am bcuz of trauma triggers this time of year, and that it’s a shame therapy is ending at the same time. He hopes I have internalised him as someone who hasn’t abused me, and hold on to the time we’ve spent together and keep our work in mind, I’ll try for sure.

Grateful for the meme threads, they are great for train journeys!

Evening check in: day 20

It was another short day at work. I would normally waste time at the bar before kids got out of school but never actually picking them up from grandmas because I was out being a drunk. Today I’m proud to say I did some volunteer work at my kids school and even stayed with them for chess club. My life is really turning around in just 20 days!
