Checking in with 318 days. We brought home our new little family member last night. It’s been a little bit of adjustment but nice to have a dog back in our lives again.

Goldsmith class was fun. It’s 10 people mixed of all ages and experience. But I’m the only one with absolutely NO experience at all. But I will learn trough trial and error.
When I am in a new environment meeting new people I act very present/overdone? I do not know the right translation for it. I tried to be more low profile and I think I managed to do so.
Today? Work.

Still going strong. Friends seem to be distant atm which has been painful. Accepting relationships change isnt always easy.

Woke up coughing and with a dry, hurting throat 
Temperature is slightly higher as it’s normal for me so I called the hairdresser and quit my appointment for today 
Going to cook me some good chicken soup to fight off whatever wants to bother me.
Lots of rest and vitamins for me this weekend, jackpot

Working late shifts this weekend. That’s fine. Yesterday I did my first proper EMDR session in the morning, intense stuff that is. In the afternoon had my Pesso group therapy, which is beginning to take shape too. And biked to everywhere and back home. Nearly 6 hours of cycling and 3.5 hours of therapy. Long day. But feeling pretty good now. Could never do all this when I wasn’t sober and clean. It’s my journey of Discovery. X

Two and a half years today
Still working on progress, not perfection. And that progress can be a little hard to see sometimes. Trying to give myself grace, that where I am is ok, that keeping heading in the right direction is all I need to do. But I want to be ‘all fixed’ and I want that now.

I had a great week myself 
The highlight was lunch with an old friend who’s ‘in the business’ (as we say here in Nashville). As we were parting he mentioned something that he’s never told me in the 15+ years we’ve known each other. Completely out of the blue he said ‘…well it’s been 30 years, two months, and 18 days that I’ve been sober…’. We weren’t even talking about sobriety. Proudly, I was able to reply that it’s been over 30 days for me (39 today).
A completely casual and unexpected conversation then occurred in that restaurant parking lot. I felt no shame or stigma at all for the first time in my life.
You never know who is walking the same steps we are.
