Thank you very much

Really not dealing with cravings or shit attitude. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic is contained in Allen Carr’s EasyWay, but that shit works. Lol it’s been easy, with the exception of…
this is me right now. Changing the ritualistic, repetitious, habitual behaviors are the toughest for me. Like break time at work, being in the car, sitting outside. I don’t crave a cigarette, but something feels “off” because I’m not partaking in the ritual/habit. Hoping in a few days the “new normal” will settle in.
Checking in day 16.
Im in rehab for 6 months.
Got a class at 9am
Day 56
Just checking in.
WOW!!! What an accomplishment! Im so proud of you
Congratulations on 90 days!! Way to go
Day 78 for me. Love and strength to all.
That’s the famous Goldfinch painting.isn’t it the one that inspired the book by Donna Tartt? Fabulous read.
2 weeks is amazing
It was so crazy reading your family history. I just posted somewhere else how my paternal grandfather died of a heart attack at age 30 (and I recently found out it was caused by alcohol withdrawal). But what’s crazier is that his parents (my great grandparents) gave him up to an orphanage bc “they couldn’t take care of him”. And then my father drank. And my brother and I got the gene.
I also wonder how to handle the situation of explaining this to my daughter when the time comes (hopefully not too soon as she’s 9). Her father is exactly the same as me. I worry, like most kids, she won’t listen/care and end up like us. But I try not to dwell on the ‘what ifs’ anymore.
Anyway, keep up the good work! And goodluck with your promotion
& @SoberWalker Indeed it is. I might have to read it. In Dutch the putter is originally called distelvink (thistlefinch), the goudvink is another bird called bullfinch in English. The thistlefinch is called putter (meaning getting something from a put or well) now because it was kept as a pet and could learn to draw it’s own water with a small bucket.
Nice job off the smokes
I definitely get that ritualisticness of the smokers routine. The one on my drive to work was the hardest. Although I haven’t actually quit nicotine yet, just cigarettes (I switched to pouches bc at least I’m not beating my lungs up anymore).
My father said when he quit cold turkey he started keeping sunflower seeds or pistachios on him. Being able to have something to crack open while having fidgety fingers. Idk if you like those but, secondly, he took up oragami. Idk how old your kids are, but I know the fidget craze is HUGE. Lots of different, pocket size trinkets to mess around with out there.
For some reason haircuts come out
Looking better when yr Sober

This is your journey and no one else’s – you tell or don’t tell people in your own time. I do hope that will be able to get ahead of this cold. Sending healing vibes.
@catmancam I am so sorry love dealing with so much pain on top of everything else. Sending you comforting hugs. Way to get 120+ days of vape free! Glad you were able to attend 2 online courses. Hope your sleep regulates.
@saturn81 Oh Michelle I am so sorry that you have been suffering in silence all alone. I can’t even imagine the withdrawals you are experiencing atm. I do know that I too numbed the pain by staying drunk and then finally decided that the pain was not going to get better until I got better. I do wish you strength my friend. It will get easier just need to keep moving forward. I know the feeling of wanting to hide under the covers and not reach out but this is when we need each other the most. So glad to see you positing. I do hope today is easier for you.
This is very impressive and what a great rule to have so that you can fully enjoy going out and not feel triggered! Have a blast tonight.
