@james83 we are here if the temptations creep in. Glad you are the DD and that alone may help keep you sober. Remember why you aren’t drinking and play that tape forward. You are doing great and gonna be double digits tomorrow :muscle:t4::muscle:t4:

Checking in day 28. Last few days have been fairly chill. Not really doing much, I’m staying away from social plans that involve people drinking for now, which means that I’m not really doing very much. Sleep is still really bad for an unrelated reason so I’m not feeling great either and therefore not being very productive. Watching lots of Netflix which is getting boring! Wouldn’t say I’m enjoying sober life right now but equally I’m not riddled with shame, guilt and anxiety so that’s good! Feel like I’m just going through the motions allot at the moment. Need to spend my time better but difficult when I’m so tired! Anyway, boring rant over. Hope everyone’s having a good weekend!

Thanks. I relapsed last weekend, drank two pints, so had to reset the counter. Now I’m on day 5.

Sorry you’re not sleeping better.

That first month is the worst. And you’re coming up on 30 days. That’s HUGE in itself.
You’re not drinking today. You’re right where you need to be.

I had a lot of dull boring days early on. It didn’t last forever you’re doing GREAT :+1: :blush:

Had a ripper day yesterday. Sat by the ocean, got wet, watched dolphins play and just thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Day 685 - I don’t usually post on this thread but @Mischa84 and @acromouse got me thinking about shops that sell food from ‘home’ and how good that can be for the soul :+1:

My food cravings are Dutch and Indonesian (my mother was born there) and there are three options that I know of here in the US: Asian food shops like one on Lexington Ave in NYC, a Dutch shop in Connecticut that sells both Dutch and Indonesian (and some German for those so inclined) and an online shop for Dutch expats. All are murderously expensive but hey…

“You can take the boy out of Holland, but you cannot take Holland out of the boy” and food is such an important part of overall culture! :yum:

@Pamela closing in on the 1 month milestone :muscle:t4:. Sorry the sleep is crappy at the moment. The early days can be boring in a way as you are trying to find your new routines and keep strong through the urges, avoiding triggers — the main thing is that you stay sober. Each day added is a day further from day 1 and it does get easier. :muscle:t4::hugs:

Remember that they don’t last and play that tape forward…no good comes from relapsing.
Find something to keep you busy or if you can - go to a meeting…here if you need to vent it out

Thank you. I’m ignoring it because it’s stupid and not the answer to stress. Especially not when you already have liver problems.
