10 months is awesome!
@Climbin change can be daunting and stressful. Youâve booked the ticket and who knows this could be the best thing for you. Glad you are giving it a try. Nicely done on keeping yourself busyâŚyummy meal youâve created
@james83 we are here if the temptations creep in. Glad you are the DD and that alone may help keep you sober. Remember why you arenât drinking and play that tape forward. You are doing great and gonna be double digits tomorrow
@PositiveThoughts wishing you do get some down time to relax. A sober evening is perfect. Sending you peaceful vibes
@Mischa84 love it all! Well done . Hope you all have a fabulous time
So very great to hear!!!
Checking in day 28. Last few days have been fairly chill. Not really doing much, Iâm staying away from social plans that involve people drinking for now, which means that Iâm not really doing very much. Sleep is still really bad for an unrelated reason so Iâm not feeling great either and therefore not being very productive. Watching lots of Netflix which is getting boring! Wouldnât say Iâm enjoying sober life right now but equally Iâm not riddled with shame, guilt and anxiety so thatâs good! Feel like Iâm just going through the motions allot at the moment. Need to spend my time better but difficult when Iâm so tired! Anyway, boring rant over. Hope everyoneâs having a good weekend!
Thanks. I relapsed last weekend, drank two pints, so had to reset the counter. Now Iâm on day 5.
It sounds like youâre doing all the right things Pamala.
Sorry youâre not sleeping better.
That first month is the worst. And youâre coming up on 30 days. Thatâs HUGE in itself.
Youâre not drinking today. Youâre right where you need to be.
I had a lot of dull boring days early on. It didnât last forever youâre doing GREAT
Day 265
Had a ripper day yesterday. Sat by the ocean, got wet, watched dolphins play and just thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Ok reset. Your posts sound more positive. Keep working for success!
This picture is just so awe-inspiring
Thank you, my friend. Iâm trying to stay positive.
Day 685 - I donât usually post on this thread but @Mischa84 and @acromouse got me thinking about shops that sell food from âhomeâ and how good that can be for the soul
My food cravings are Dutch and Indonesian (my mother was born there) and there are three options that I know of here in the US: Asian food shops like one on Lexington Ave in NYC, a Dutch shop in Connecticut that sells both Dutch and Indonesian (and some German for those so inclined) and an online shop for Dutch expats. All are murderously expensive but heyâŚ
âYou can take the boy out of Holland, but you cannot take Holland out of the boyâ and food is such an important part of overall culture!
Thank you very much. It just might be what i have needed
Checking in day 306 AF
@Pamela closing in on the 1 month milestone . Sorry the sleep is crappy at the moment. The early days can be boring in a way as you are trying to find your new routines and keep strong through the urges, avoiding triggers â the main thing is that you stay sober. Each day added is a day further from day 1 and it does get easier.
Sorry to hear about the relapse but great to see you back on track and with 5 days under your belt . Keep up the great work David
Oh no, here come the urges
Remember that they donât last and play that tape forwardâŚno good comes from relapsing.
Find something to keep you busy or if you can - go to a meetingâŚhere if you need to vent it out
Thank you. Iâm ignoring it because itâs stupid and not the answer to stress. Especially not when you already have liver problems.
