Checking in daily to maintain focus #72

Glad to hear you have the knowledge of what is going on and can tackle what needs to be done. As for salads there are so many healthy choices that are tasty.

I agree. I kind of wished the doctor wouldnt of worded it like that. Fatty liver due to diet lol. I guess its better it being because of something else, which i didnt know if it could possibly be bc of somethint else. I really do indulge in sweets though, specially in the middle of the night. But it still doesnt really explain why i have always felt so fatigued and tired a good portion of my life. I havent always had fatty liver. Either way, i know eating healthier needs to be done, i geuss its sometimes hard to accept that.

I understand your feelings. Diet is something you can work with. There is plenty of room for sweets. Try to pick the best choices. Glad you are here.

Day 3 - Checking In, another day in the office, actually really enjoying being here, seems to keep me grounded a lot more than working from home.

Goals for the day:

  • work
  • three whole meals
  • meet up with a friend for lunch/coffee
  • read

Thinking of you all today and just want to say, you are not your past decisions, you are built for goodness love and peace!

@1in8billion How are you doing today? I am sorry that you have been struggling. So true that sobriety isn’t just about quitting but replacing these habits/ routines with healthier and better ones. I see the positivity trying to ooze out – hope it succeeds. The key I find is to surround ourselves with happiness and laughter (even if its with skits or movies or whatever / wherever you can find it) so that it seeps into us – especially on our down days. You keep fighting for yourself. We all have your back here :people_hugging:
@heath Lovely to see you checking in and great work on surviving a holiday week! Kee pushing forward and remember that we are all here to support you – ODAAT
@billsmafia13 WOOT WOOT – 90 days is amazing work! Great job on your 3 month milestone :muscle: :tada:
@seb Oh that is fantastic news! Glad you were finally able to get an appointment booked :hugs:
@just_laura That is a wonderful looking number! Sorry for the night and that is super rude and inconsiderate of that party. Sorry that the dishwashers bounced too WTF! Glad you vented here and felt better with music blasting! Way to take the edge off :hugs: Fingers crossed that today goes smoothly in all respects and you have a wonderful time!
@mrfantastik Sorry to hear about your back! Do take care of yourself – hope it heals up quickly
@s_unrelax 30 min a day is a lot! I know I had a hell of a time concentrating or having any motivation at all in the early days. Be gentle with yourself and know that this will not last. You will get your energy and motivation back. 19 days is amazing work :muscle:
@nesh1029 Welcome to the community and the check in thread. Great work on your 3 days of sobriety. Keep pushing forward :muscle:

I love this! So amazing to see how far you’ve come and I’m glad that you are noticing it too. Congrats on getting the painting done and moving in – a whole new chapter for you :hugs:

I totally understand being off kilter when we can’t get our morning exercise routine in. Hope that tomorrow starts off with a hike/ run! Way to go with your 8 months my friend :tada: :tada: @

@stacyann Way to go with your 2+ weeks! I know it may seem like you aren’t changing but believe me – your system is detoxing and healing. Each of us is different on when the outer stuff starts to show. Your skin, sleep and mental health will improve. You will see many more benefits too so please keep pushing forward and fighting for your sobriety :muscle:
@mindofsobermike Glad you got the results and have a plan to start working on it. Like Lea Ann said – many great healthy salad options. Some awesome sugar free sweet desserts too (maybe check out the sugar free thread for some ideas). You got this!
@bomdhil Oh dear friend – you are gonna make me cry! Thank you to you! Well done on your 15 days. The anger was a rough bit to get through for me. I noticed that I was able to address it after my months of sobriety. For me my diet fed into the anger (hard to believe but I was eating foods that were too hot for my digestive system – not spicy so much but hot as in creating heat inside) this brought out the anger. I don’t know if you follow ayurvedic practices but trying to find a balance between the doshas (life forces).

Checking in on Wednesday morning…
Glad I got some sleep last night but seems that this fatigue is just not getting any easier. Still dealing with the rest of it too so I am going to do my best to just keep pushing forward. ODAAT! Grateful that I am not reaching for any addictive substances for help.
Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day - sending you all so much love

  1. Checking in. All good with ginger beer and water on holiday :grinning:. A drink makes absolutely nothing better than it already is, only worse.

Tiredness could be due to sugar crashes Mike.

You may already know this, in which case I apologise but…

When you eat a lot of sugar your body produces more insulin to combat the sugar in your blood. This then means your sugar level drops quickly and often undershoots the normal levels. This makes you feel tired because you don’t have much quickly available sugar for your muscles to use. If you do this repeatedly, it’s like a sugar rollercoaster which leads to tiredness.

If you want to see it for yourself you can use a blood sugar monitor such as a Libra 2 sensor. You wear it for 14 days and watch the outcome in your smartphone. Amazing !!

Day 5 check in. All good here. Hit the gym a bit hard and I’m tired. That feels great!

Absolutely i understand that now. But its something i have struggled with even as a kid. But all the test and lab results show everything is normal. So idk, hopefully the sleep study will show something the labs are missing

Played golf today in 40 degrees. It was sunny at least. Shot 80 and enjoyed the 7 mile walk. Feeling good other than some minor aches and pains. Have a great evening TS people. :christmas_tree:
