Checking in on day
616 no alcohol
124 no form of marijuana
256 nic free

Not much going on
Chillin with the family

Baby boy got up early
Wifey gave me a good kick so I got up too lol

Made him bottles
Changed his dipey
He followed me around a while

Every morning when I drink coffee he is at the gate gibber gabbering at me

Now he’s chillin with me and momma
Watching ticktok together

I don’t know how I got here
I went from drinking and smoking as much as I could in a roomin house to working full time with a family and even my drivers license and comfortably sober and even nic free

I married my wife like 1 year after being boyfriend girlfriend. All my old friends told me we wouldn’t work
Now we are celebrating 3 years marriage this year

I have come a long way and changed my life for the 3rd time

My 1st change was my attitude toward life
My 2nd less anger toward my dad mostly
My 3rd was marriage, parent hood and being more mature all around

The whole time I was fighting relapse after relapse until I got to where I am now

The reality of addiction
There is still a good run in me left
And that last run could be my last chance at life

Keep it going. 20 days is great, you are almost over the worst of the initial stage. But stay vigilant and keep close to sobriety and the tools.

@Dustysprungfield glad you were able to see those thoughts as glorifications and are now alert and taking action to squash them. Coming up on 6 months is a huge deal. Looking forward to celebrating your milestone and many more with you
@Lastry that was a hilarious story. Glad you were able to revisit some beautiful memories and get some laughter from the situation. Love hearing that you son is 2 weeks sober and wanting to live in recovery :pray:t4:
@Marit well done in your 1 week milestone :tada: :muscle:t4: sleep can be off for a while in the early days. Keep listening to your body and get rest when you can. It does get better
@MizzTT yes!!! Gotta acknowledge and celebrate all victories…1 week is fantastic :muscle:t4: :tada:.
@CanadianGirl I too had a hard time in the kitchen after getting sober. Having a la croix in a fancy glass or a hot tea helped with the cravings for me. Well done on your 20 days. Keep stacking up the days :muscle:t4:

So very proud and happy for you. It’s beautiful to read that you are present for your son and he only knows the sober you. You are doing a fantastic job on your recovery :muscle:t4::tada:. Keep it up
@cr84 hey good morning Cass :sun_with_face:. We are gonna get this day started off right :muscle:t4:…ok- I am gonna at least knock out this challenge…you with me?

Checking in on Wednesday morning
Slept like crap…I’m not ready to move so am catching up here with some coffee.
My inflammation is flaring up and I need to tend to it quickly. I ignored some signs and am beating myself over that. Just don’t want to stop my workouts. They really have been so helpful in my mental recovery.
I’m sure everything will work out just fine.

Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day. Sending you all so much love :heart:

Day 1067
Up bright and early today. Woke up at 6am, couldve gone to the gym in my building for a quick cardio workout, but chose to relax in bed. My neck actually hurts a bit. I think i strained a muscle or slept on it funny or something. Anyway, my son is home today from school due to an appt. So thats all we have planned for today. Im going to do my daily cleaning as well. Read some of my Atomic Habits book and emjoy the day! Have a great day everyone!

Exactly. I managed to train myself to reject the crap apparently so that’s cool too :joy: (probably the instant regret) You’ve been so supportive since day one (the original lol) So thank you dear. While my bf is also just as sober he’s one of those flip a switch and poof bad habit gone crazy people, so talking about it would be worse for him. He’s drowned in writing music again so I know he’s going in the right direction.:purple_heart:🩷:purple_heart:

Congratulations on your first week! The first days are the most difficult. Great job on listening to your body! I‘d love to see some pictures of your horses if you are so inclined.
[/quote] thank you! I am glad to read you had a pretty good sleep

I always say I have two horses, but it might actually be 1,5 :joy: The big one is retiring this year, and to do so I am bringing him to a amazing place 1100km away… Very stressful as I love him to bits (he’ll still be mine and I’ll visit him as often as I can).

Thank you so much, I will.

@CR84 Congrats, amazing to be in the doubles
@Noshame loved reading this. You really changed your life around and you should be so proud of it. And I can imagine how proud your wife must be!

(Sorry I messed up the quote. Still getting the hang of it :grimacing:)
