Checking in on Day 75
Slept well but still feeling a bit thrown off by the time change. It was another sunny warm day today so that was really nice . Had a bit of a tough day at work though that involved facing my boss after a rather significant payroll error I made recently and noticed on Sunday. Its never a particularly a good time to be lectured like that but I took my lumps and it’s done and over with and we can all move on. On the positive side of it all I don’t feel like drinking and not that long ago this would have been a great excuse to drink my face off. Hope you’ve all had a great day . Stay safe and sober everyone

@lile01 How was your first day back at work?
@james83 Way to go with your 40 days James! I do know it takes time to find other activities / social hang outs to do where alcohol is not the focal point. You will get there. Sports is great for this. I am hoping to look into pottery and design classes for adults. Also with meet up groups for hiking and kayaking I may be able to find some new friends in the process. I stay away from any AF wine but do enjoy a AF beer from time to time as it is not triggering to me. Great work on working your sober journey!
@apes2020 Congratulations on your double digits! :muscle:  Keep vigilant and working that recovery :tada:

It is and I wish there was an easy way to move past it. Only thing that helped me is to connect with others dealing with addiction and realize that I am not alone. Realize that I am putting in the effort every day for a better me. We can not change the past but we can make sure to not repeat our mistakes. This is where self love and forgiveness comes in. 45 days is impressive work :muscle:
@refreshedperspective WOOHOO!!! So excited to be seeing this! Way to go with your triple digits!

Good evening friends. Finishing up a successful day 45 at a meeting. Busy day. Even got to fix our clothes dryer (replaced bad heating element)… So, pretty good and productive overall.
Have a great evening!

Had a good day! Took a phone call appt this morning and then went to the gym. Got a chance to even have a nap in the afternoon, which was nice! My eating has been on point today too, which makes me extremely happy. Im doing my best to make some positive, healthy choices in my life. I know it will take a while to see results, but i have to be patient. I didnt get here in 1 day, so itll take more than a day to get to where i want to be. Anyway, all is well! Have a good night everyone!

Glad you liked it. One more and I’ll stop.

How much does it cost the pirate to get his ears pierced?

A buck an ear.

I’ll be here all week.

Checking in on day 4.5! Would have posted earlier but I accidentally posted it to the wrong thread :see_no_evil:

Spring has well and truly arrived in De Cymru (South Wales)

It went really well, thank you @JazzyS :yellow_heart:

Had my work meeting earlier… I am officially back in work!!
I’m on a very slow phased return as I’ve been off for a year and a half, but I’m back. All of my colleagues were so happy to see me - I don’t think I’ve had so many hugs in my life!

I have to catch up on training and speak with my manager. Just so relieved to have some normality back in my life.

I’m a little nervous that I won’t be good at my job anymore as there’s a new cohort and I’ve forgotten literally everything - passwords, timings, rooms, etc. My timetable has also changed, which bothers me a bit as I’m autistic and I hate change, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time.

Absolutely shattered and a lot to take in, but I’m so relieved and happy to be back.
I even treated myself to some doughnuts to celebrate

Checking in at the end of day 9. Not too eventful of a day. I didn’t have to take a nap today, so perhaps my energy is coming back.

Have a good night/day all!

Oooh, that sounds amazing! I didn’t have that in my box and they didn’t have them separately either

The salted caramel one and biscoff one were divine. I’m yet to try the others.

Now I have to go on the hunt for the hazelnut one

They’re very expensive over here (£13 or $17) for a box, so they’ll definitely be a special occasion treat haha
