Checking in on my day 5, heading into a bank holiday weekend fully focused on staying sober. Having 2 nightshifts will help but my only focus is getting today into tomorrow over. Friday nights have always been my big kick back and relax night with copious amounts of red wine so plan is in place to get me to a sober wake up tomorrow
Im still here. Finding myself really busy with packing my wife’s things for her daughter and getting ready for summer school next week. Thanks for checking in on me.
@Scorpn yippee! So happy to hear that. Congrats on your new job
@Gooligar welcome to the community Jay. Congrats on your sober time. Friday nights / weekends can be tough. This is where having a plan and ways to keep yourself busy come in handy. Support is also key so lean on u sir recovery groups to get through the day/ evening. One day at a time
@Sunny11 congratulations on your 50 days! Impressive work . Keep pushing forward
@TS66 great to hear from you Trey. Glad you are keeping busy. Hope you do find time for yourself to decompress and rest🤗
Checking in on Friday morning
Not much to say…gonna make the most of the day…most definitely will not fall back in addictive crutches.
Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day… sending you all so much love
Day 6. Feeling pretty down today. Glad I’m not hungover though.
Have to go to a wedding tomorrow I can’t get out of…feeling a bit gross about the fact I will have to face up to some of the shit I did during my last binge and also there will be booze everywhere.
Keep trying to tell myself nobody cares if I’m not drinking. But worried nonetheless. I’m quite an awkward person so have used booze to mask a lot of that in the past and let’s face it made things much worse. At least it’s just for a few hours…
I feel I’m going where I want. New and scary and exciting adventures await, like starting therapy in few months. But I’m not letting my fear to stop me if the result is positive.
@NewDay1990 1 week tomorrow is awesome. It’s normal that have these fears and thoughts. Most people will be too busy having fun this notice you not drinking+especially if you have something in hand…a coke or juice for example). Like Franzi said. Adults and friends don’t care so much about it. We are here for you if you feel a need to connect. Also no shame in leaving early. Your sobriety is the important thing to protect. Hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding.
@SolarEclipse congratulations on double 3’s:confetti_ball:
@Raspberry yeah to 8 months!!! Love the positive outlook and the sober journey
I never thought about it, but I believe they are a very german thing
Our seaside is usually quite windy even in high summer. So these are hooded beach chairs. You will find them on every beach in Germany.
“It was designed to provide comfort seating and shelter from wind, rain, sand gusts and sunburn on beach seafront resorts frequented by tourists.”
Thanks for the reply. Comfy and can always tell your friends I am located at 138 so easy to find or give them a different number if you prefer them not to find you. Haha
Thank you so much @One4theroad and @JazzyS. Think I am massively over thinking. If I can start to make it through more social events not drinking it will get easier I’m sure I just have to gain some experience.
These are amazing! I have never seen them (because I would never choose to go to Germany to the beach… sorry… in the Uk we have our own cold windy North Sea beaches ). My wife would love them as she tries to hide from the sun as much as possible as she’s very fair.
