Checking in day 44. Thanks to everyone who is keeping me in their prayers during this difficult time. I dont know how im feeling right now, but my sobriety is still #1 in my life. Thanks again everyone. About to do some reading to get my mind off other things.
A very good day. I went caving with my daughters, who all loved the experience. I would have liked to see their eyes sparkling with curiosity, but in a cave, when you look at someone, you’re either blinded by their headlamp or vice versa!
Smart to give your eyes a break m. Hope the drops help.
Do look into LASIK…maybe it can be if help for you
I have been experimenting a bit when I have the time and energy. It doesn’t take as long as I had thought …most of the time is waiting for it to set. Not able to make sliceable cheese yet. This one turned out too sweet (the pectin did that as it’s all natural fruit sugar). Didn’t use a lot but still not the result I wanted and again it is more of a spreadable cheese. Oh well .. will try something different next time. I made this with using cashews and brewers yeast. I have not tried to use soy yet but possibly next time. Glad this is good enough to use in pizza or for lasagna/ enchiladas etc.
Edit…I realized my mistake and what it’s so sweet (used sweetened coconut cream )
Day 16 Sunday late afternoon check-in
I grabbed some overpriced crap at Starbucks this morning and headed over to my Temu-hoarding mother’s house where I proceeded to organize and clean as much as I could.
I took Bearington to the park after we left and then came home. I’m feeling a bit out of sorts. Too much caffeine maybe. I’m nervous about this week. It’s supposed to be my last week at outpatient but I missed a few days. So, not sure how that works. I also need to figure the new therapist thing out and what groups I want to start attending after outpatient is over. I have a lot to think about this week.
Checking in day 46, keep getting this headache, that just comes and goes. Nothing terrible, but like a pressure and slightly uncomfortable. Idk probably stress. I quit my job Friday, idk if I’ve mentioned that yet, so much going on the past week. 2 jobs lined up though, and I will enjoy my 9 days off, paycheck be dawned it always works out.
Got the kids off to school then made it to the gym, got some rounds in. The fitness is coming back.
Had a nap, now waiting to pick up the kids from school. I swear it won’t rain all day then waits till school pick up to pour down. Lucky im waterproof.
@Jette
Congratulations on reaching Day 27! I hope your planning and preparation continue to strengthen your resolve each day.
@Butterflymoonwoman
Congratulations on Day 1281! I’m sorry to hear about your eyes and hope they recover quickly. Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery.
@Nomad620
13 days sober—well done! Keep going, one day at a time (ODAAT).
@Rachel1101
143 is a remarkable milestone. I truly admire your dedication to sobriety—attending meetings regularly and working with a sponsor. Keep up the excellent work!
@Madds
You’ve got this. Dwelling on the past or worrying about the future is unproductive. Focus on the present, prioritize staying sober, and take actionable steps toward your goals.
Day 4
It was a pleasant Monday with rain—a refreshing change that I’m enjoying fully, especially now that I am sober. This morning, my mom asked me to purchase a new washing machine as the old one is no longer functional. I felt immense gratitude, reflecting on the money I once spent on alcohol and on people who added no value to my life—only leaving behind regret and guilt. I plan to buy a new washing machine for my mom next week.
Today, I also have a court appointment, so I’ll be out for a couple of hours. Upon returning, I’ll continue maintaining my Sober Tracker spreadsheet, where I record daily progress and reflections before bed. This practice holds me accountable and reinforces my commitment to sobriety.
Pretty great weekend overall. Lots of time spent with friends and the kiddo. I’m preparing for a wilderness trip in a week with some of my best friends. After doing some chores around the house I spent the afternoon getting my gear organized and consolidated.
I did have some cravings to smoke weed while I was doing chores. It was a favorite past time to tackle monotonous tasks while high. While being stoned can be cerebral and entertaining, I’m consistently less efficient in doing those tasks.
Hope you all find serenity wherever you find yourselves.
Arghhhhhhhh it is always something, right? I’m hoping you will have good dependable transportation and room for all if not most when it’s all fixed up.
