Checking in daily to maintain focus #80

@JazzyS Thank you Jasmine, I do :hugs: I always appreciate your positive vibes in Your posts despite the fact not all in your life is so ideal as you would have wished for. Stay strong :wink: :flexed_biceps:

Saturday afternoon check in. As I’ve said before, I have some figuring out to do with my life at the moment. I feel burnt out, and I don’t have any recovery or restorative time other than a defined box of time at night where sleep is scheduled.

I am glad my sobriety journey is forcing me to confront these issues on my own without escaping them or sweeping them under a rug.

I truly believe that if I could have a heart to heart chat with ā€œme 10 years from nowā€, he would give me a hug and a handshake and tell me to keep going. I’m doing the right things.

Having a lonely day, but feeling comforted by my progress. Healing my inner child by watching The Secret of Nimh and coloring some Halloween pages :sweat_smile:

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Checking in day 7. Feels good to have got to this point as on each day of the week there was a reason my mind tricked me into thinking it was justified to drink a toxic substance and now I’ve gone through each day, dealing with their respective, unique, challenges without poisoning myself. Why couldn’t I do it again?

I can’t say there haven’t been times I’ve been tempted still this week but it does feel different this time to all the other times. I think the thought of having to come here and admit to relapsing is really helping making sure I don’t. Especially when I read about everyone else’s stories and struggles and see you all fighting on. Thank you! Best of luck everyone and have a great, sober, Saturday!

Just wanted to do a quick milestone check in. As, I previously mentioned there were a lot in the last 24 hours or so… Just in case you missed it (thread flip & all)

@Redro 1 Week and still going :flexed_biceps:

@MNO 10 Years… Pure inspiration.

@lucalds 1 month and you are getting stronger everyday… even when it doesn’t feel like you are.

@finn WELCOME BACK DEAR FRIEND.

@jms19 10 days that included a payday… I AM SO FRICKIN PROUD OF YOU as you know I also fought the same issue. Keep pushin

@leveller… 4 weeks or 2 days from that sweet 30 mark! Your light shines brighter through your posts everyday. And tell Alfie we say woof (hi)

@chelle267 1 YEAR of freedom… love it!

@ofmiceandroach 60 Days… Yay to designation and not a due! Amazing work.

@RTROS 20 Days! Crossing another week of the list. Way to go. Enjoy your day. I was watching The Neverending Story last night doing the same thing lol

I hope I didn’t miss anyone, but if I did…. Huge congratulations! Everyday sober is one to be celebrated. Love you all!

Day 60 no self harm

Should be proud of this milestone but considering I was over 3.5 years clean before I only feel shame

There’s no reason to feel shame. You’re back at it, with 60 days.

@JazzyS thanks for alwaysbeing here, and being so supportive!!!

Checking in day 87. I did something for ME today. I got my eyelashes dyed and lifted, and my eyebrows done for the first time in over 13 year. Coming up on 90 days, and my 43rd birthday next month. So I did something 100% for myself. Think I also may be a little manic, but thats okay because it means I’m motivated LOL. House gets cleaned and projects I’ve put off get done, harness that shit for something positive I say!!

Happy sober day everyone!!

@dogloverforever77 I am sorry for the relapse friend. Glad you are not letting it keep you from starting over. Great work on day 1! Remember the early days suck so hang tight friend. We are here with you ODAAT! :muscle:
@von100 Way to show that demon 0 attention. Grateful you were able to witness the restaurant atmosphere mood change before and after people celebrating an outing with alcohol. WE definitely do not need that poison in our lives. Life is so much better without it. ā€œI’m ready to take this day and own itā€ SAY IT LOUD! :hugs: ODAAT
@mtrav0040 Well done on your triple digits! Keep up the great recovery work. :clap: :muscle:
@marit Glad you are being kind to yourself and taking the time to recover. :hugs:

Keep working on this friend. You will find the healthy way to deal with these emotions and not be so down on yourself for feeling them. So very grateful that you did fight for yourself and find your way out of that vulnerable headspace. Grateful you did reach out to your safe person – nothing to feel ashamed about. Everyone has those dark moments (for some it lasts longer than for others) Your safe person is designated as the safe person cause that is who you call when you feel wobbly. Great to see you doing better my friend. :people_hugging:
@chelle WHOOHOO! 1 year is amazing work! Keep up with the awesome momentum :clap: :tada: :clap: What an amazing achievement. Many more to come :muscle:
@ofmiceandroach Hope the hen do went well and you are now home relaxing. 2 months sobriety is awesome work – keep going strong :muscle:
@bunto :hugs: Thanks friend. Yeah – we can’t let the life’s bs keep us from being happy (I know that its easier said than done but we do gotta keep trying to find that upbeat positive note to keep us going in the right direction). Hope you are having a fantastic day

Beautiful! What a lovely way to look at things and know that you will be alright. Sending you strength and peace as you find the time to work through what you need. Sleep is important but so is your mental well being. Grateful you are working through all this sober. :people_hugging:

Sounds like a fun time. Share your colorings with us on the Show the artist within you (Part 2) thread. Way to go with your sober time… the early days are a lot of different emotions. Keep going strong – it does get easier.

@redro YES!! 1 week milestone is fantastic :clap: :muscle: Our addict brain will work to make us forget how horrible our addiction was and then try to convince us that we can have a drink – we can’t even have 1 is the reality of it and that is what we have to remember. This space really is amazing as it helps me never forget the horrible crap that brought me to my sobriety. Even with over 1000 days I still get the urge from time to time but then come here to remember why I will never go back. Stay connected friend – keep fighting the good fight!
@sadmemequeen You have not lost the 3.5 years my friend. So good to see you back on track and celebrating 2 months today! Should be super proud of yourself. I know I am :hugs:
@stacyann You are most welcome friend. So awesome to read that you did something just for YOU today! Well done. Self care is so important and necessary. Harness in the positive Stacy – I was so excited in writing this that I mis typed like all the words :laughing: Glad I got them fixed so you can make sense of em LOL
@john_connor1337 Oh I do hope you two aren’t getting sick. I had a horrible migraine yesterday and runny nose but it passed. Hopefully yours passes too :pray:

Checking in on Saturday night
1011 days free of alcohol and weed
1426 days free of cigarettes
Its been a long day. Grateful I was prepared. I did get in a good swim so that was great. It helped alleviate some of the pain and symptoms. Grateful that I was able to make it to work on time and hold down the fort on my own. I did have a bad spasm at the most inappropriate time and dropped a pan of hot food on my leg. YUP- of course it was right on my new tattoo :laughing: Why not eh? All good - I was able to clean it up the mess with relative ease. I do have a slight burn (nothing serious).
No major plans for tomorrow so may put in a movie to watch … seeing as I am wide awake LOL

Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day / evening - Sending you all so much love :heart: :heart:

My first day back at work was good. Had some good talks about Re/Discovery with both clients and colleagues. Hope to continue that today. And off tomorrow. Sober and clean. One day at a time. Let’s have as good a day as we all can friends. I will. Love from my commute.
