It’s tough, because rewarding/indulging a little really was helpful to me in the beginning, but I get that it’s not a behavior you want to continue. What worked to help you stop drinking?

My three day weekend has started. Yay. Went to spinning class after work yesterday, it was intense but nice. Today I have a bit of a recovery day, writing class this afternoon, otherwise not too much. It’s warm but not as crazy as some of the surrounding countries have it.

Want to do a good ride tomorrow. But today I’ll take it easy. Cook or at least make a big salad. Cuddle and play with Leyla, and watch the Tour de France together. See if I can stay awake for a full football match tonight. Maybe a nap here and there. Sounds like a plan. I’m going to make today as good a day as I possibly can. Sober and clean of course. I hope you will all join me in that. Much love from my lunch break yesterday.

Checking in: day 118

Yesterday was challenging but not in the way I expected. Two hours before group was suppose to start I got a call it was cancelled. So my anxiety and anticipation for what I was gonna share had no place to go anymore. So after channeling my anger on a couple of melons, I went for a stupid mental health walk. My tension was still high when I got back so I had nap. But after the nap, I still felt like crap. And while I was making dinner my dad called telling me he has a cancerous melanoma again. We knew that the chance of the cancer getting back was high but it is still a shock. Surgery is already planned so action is being taken. He is very chill about it so I decided not to worry about it, but it still makes me sad.

So sleep was shit last night, too much tension and also a mosquito. I am allergic to them so my hand is swollen from the bites.

I am glad I have nice things planned today. Movies at 15.00 and then hanging out with my friend. I am taking a slow morning to recharge a bit and I will listen to my body to make it through the day. I will stay sober.

Stay safe and sober my pocket family and stay cool and hydrated if you are in a heatwave!

Day 1727? AF

Hey, gang.

Still slavin. Wfh 9:30 am to 6 pm and 7 pm to 12 AM at the janitor spot. Getting a good workout at the night gig. I met some ppl at the offices while cleaning. I was a lil nervous at first cuz I’m not used to being around other humans. Everyone’s chill.

My ADHD hitting hard, though. I’m quadruple checking all the doors, lights, and trash bins. There was one night I drove back cuz I thought I forgot to lock a door. I need to get some help.

Anyway, I got some more time off from my first job. Gonna chill with the boys. Finally have some extra cash to spend. Oh and I won $250. Feelin like a baller shot caller.

Well, that’s all I got right now.

I hope everyone’s doing well. Take care. ODAAT

Day 26 sober and clean :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I broke down at work yesterday, I cried and I yelled and just lost it  I feel completely burnt out, my sobriety was a little wobbly but I didn’t drink on it , I came home did some breath work , got on a zoom meeting and my big brother popped in to see me and check im alright and then went to bed early .

I woke up feeling grateful today for another sober day and grateful for the AA meetings and everyone here going through their journey. Life is just feeling very lifey at the moment lol :joy:

so I’m really glad I have this break from work after today just to reconnect, see family and friends , get into some of my hobbies and just try and wind down for a while.

the heat doesn’t help with feeling tired my colleague messaged this morning and said we’re going to have a good day today no matter what which perked my right up lol :joy: I don’t think I’d have got through this week without her by my side :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m going to try and spread some joy to others today and be grateful that I have the opportunity to do that as part of my role at work .

I’ve also bought myself some ice cream for when I finish work just to treat myself with it being Friday.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today

Good morning guys. We go again! :flexed_biceps:

Day 124 AF.

Last night I took off camping, arrived 8:30pm, pitched and barbecue lit by 9:30pm, supper by 10:30. During that time I watched France Vs Morocco. We stayed up until 1am by the warmth of a campfire :fire:

Today the plan is to go to the beach and catch some waves and chill. Once upon a time all of the aforementioned activities would have involved alcohol but that’s not me anymore. I still love doing the old things I used to do like camping, city breaks, gigs and festivals and see absolutely no reason to change. Millions of people enjoy those things sober so why can’t I join them? Well yunno what? I jolly well have.

Hope you all have an awesome sober Friday and be kind to yourselves, you deserve it. :green_heart:

Getting away from it all in Abersoch.

Day 169.

Another work, eat, sleep repeat type day. Work from dark to dark. One more day then a rest day before it all begins again.

No cravings. My biggest desire right now is to get a good nights sleep.

By body is tired. My stomach is full and my head is on my pillow sober. About to be lights out.

Till tomorrow everyone.

@Marieke I took some deep breaths just reading your post. I am so sorry that the group was cancelled and all that energy didn’t have an escape. Glad you had melons around to pound on. Good work on finding ways to let go of all that stress. :people_hugging: Sorry to hear about your dad. Glad he’s got an action plan in place. :folded_hands:t4: Hoping today is a better day ..have a wonderful time at the movies. A concentrated garlic spray keeps mosquitoes away. You do smell like garlic for a bit but definitely no bites

I don’t think I have ADHD but do this often. I literally say to myself that ā€œsee you are locking the door or turning off the burnerā€ and then have to go back and check that I didn’t lie to myself . Winning money is a great feeling… happy spending

YES! Love that message to start off the day right. Grateful for good friends that help us through the tough moments. I am sorry about the breakdown yesterday…do you feel lighter today? Glad you practiced self care when you felt wobbly. Flex them sober muscles :flexed_biceps:t4::flexed_biceps:t4: much love Sarah. Thanks for your kind words. We are stronger together :people_hugging:

I love it .. nothing stopping us from having a wonderful time…we just do it sober And actually enjoy each moment…better yet we remember it all and feel great afterwards to continue enjoying moments
@Violagirl ooohhhh yeah! 8 months and going strong :flexed_biceps:t4::tada::confetti_ball:

@Jaybeeem sleep well…hope you get the rest your body needs. The same routine can feel great at times. It helps my mind find rest as it’s not trying to sort through what day / time it is and where I’m meant to be or what am I supposed to be doing at this moment. Hope you can feel the calmness with your routine at the moment :hugs:
@Binx hey friend…i hope you are well. Making sure to find some time for you with your busy schedule. Wanted to wish you a happy birthday :birthday_cake::tada:…have a fabulous day!

Checking in on Friday morning
I did manage to get some deep sleep after 2am. Grateful my neighbor didn’t wake me up this morning. He gets up at 5ish and it’s like he falls out of bed. Like he scares himself awake . All I hear is a this and then him scrambling above me.
The heat is rising and the humidity is thick. Oh summer :sun_with_face::sun_with_face: lol ..I would like to have the cooler mornings / evenings to enjoy sitting outside.
I am feeling well enough to go swimming today. Excited as it’s been too many days without.

Wishing everyone a wonderful addiction free day… sending you all so much love :heart:

Yesterday was a rest day, I was waiting for a wood delivery that never came, jumped on an AA meeting online, re-watched a Star Wars flick etc. I needed the rest.

Today, with continued pleasant weather, will be a longer road bike ride. And it’s Friday, so the Friday evening AA meeting is happening and is in my plan.

Stay sober, friends. I appreciate your check-ins from all over the world, it gives me strength and calm to know that we are legion.
