I just prick my forearm. Blood’s the same anyway. I’ve done it ever since I was diagnosed - almost 20 years.
I’m not sure where the “prick your finger” requirement came from. Obviously from somebody who’s not actually diabetic (I would bet that diagnostic practice was written into the standards when most glucose testing was done by nurses or doctors who had to get a sample from their patients, and the fingers are an easy place to get a droplet of blood - it’s the easiest part of the body for them to grasp and test.)
If you to your forearm you might need to press a bit into the skin before you release the lancet - that will let it penetrate a bit deeper (the skin is a bit thicker on the forearm).
Nice to hear. Dexcom? Freestyle Libre? I am still happy with the fsl but I read a lot about the diabeloop, a selflearning loop. Maybe next year when I can ask for a new pump. Fls 3 is out which is more accurate and even smaller then fsl2.
Happy to hear how it is going
And also from Courtney @Dragonflygirl82
I have it. Works fine with me. Smaller than the dexcom but is slightly less reactive to quick changes in glycemia. But I guess this is no issue for you since you are not using a loop.
