Also gyms, yoga, hair salons, anything not medical or groceries and gas.
My full time job is bartending at a restaurant. Iāll be fine but I am concerned for some co-workers especially those with kids, this has potential to be awful for them.
Speaking about the coronovirus, I work in the grocery store business, and I took this photo yesterday after one day of shoppers stopping by to supply themselves with bread and other goodies like toilet paper and meat (completely randome, but I noticed the thread)
Things have changed very rapidly in the past few days where I live. There were 8 confirmed cases in my county yesterday, 14 today. Over 600 in the whole state(half in NYC, which is 300+ miles away). Schools closed for a week to week basis. Half my usual meetings are canceled and I probably wont go to the other ones, which will probably eventually be canceled as well. I just spent $400 on food and supplies and feel I should still get more tomorrow. Shits getting real. Iām really not worried about the sickness. Itās all the other changes. I must say tho I am relieved to have just finished my 4th and 5th steps last week which has given me a completely new outlook on all aspects of life. Take each day as it comes. Whatever it may bring. Hopefully not pandemonium.
Thatās what our Walmart looks like. I had to go to 5 different stores today for everything I needed.
Seiously. Same thing at other grocery stores like Safeways, Bel-Airs and other small conveniant storss of Rite Aid and Walgreens. Costco is a catastrophe full of people zooming in-and-out of its parking lot where Im at in California. Besides toilet paper, othet supplies running out are gloves and masks.

Agreed; removed post @SpirituallyWoke
No harm, no foul. But I suggest we refrain from posting on rumors/speculation.
Woke up ten minutes ago, having my first cup of coffee. I should go for a brisk walk by the sea, but to be honest, Iām a bit scared of the other people taking a walk.
Weāre all gonna end up agoraphobic after this.
Ha, I was thinking the opposite. I miss hugs! Recovery got me liking hugs again. Iāve got a backlog of 'em.
āDonāt hug people.ā Pft.
No hugs for the moment
Stay sober and happy for being sober (youāll hug your dear ones later ).
Family and friends were teasing me when I stocked up and set up a new pantry space in my basement a few weeks back. Thing is, my hubby works directly with suppliers in China, South Korea and Italy. He has two to three conference calls each week with them and has heard how it has affected his contacts in the time leading up to itās spread here. He was on a business trip in China and returned the second week of January, just before things really got locked down there. He has been saying for months, āItās comingā¦ā and he asked me to stock up and we worked on a list together. So glad we had that information and just did some due diligence ājust in case.ā No one would believe me when I sent messages of warning, even when I said ābetter to be on the safe side.ā We Americans can really have some egos, canāt we.
Slightly still more worried about my drinking habits.
My bf really wanted us to stock up on canned goods so we did, kinda. But even the amount we stocked, maybe two weeks, makes me uncomfortable. If everyone who can afford to stock up does it, and the stores are empty, what happens to people who live so much paycheck to paycheck that they canāt do that? Worried about what will happen if there are shortages of things like baby formula.
You absolutely make an important point about people who do not have the resources to prepare for this even if they want to. I am in a privileged position to be able to do what I did. It really is inspiring to hear about how people in the community are helping others.
My fellow Canadians might remember this commercial from back in the day. It was meant for drugs. But can apply to germs. It was a big joke back then to the younger crowd because of title/lyrics ādonāt put in your mouth, donāt stuff it in your faceā
Youāre welcome
Oh my god. Nightmare territory!
