My clients are the people that can’t afford to stock up on food. My office has a limited sized food pantry and I will deliver food to clients as the need arises.
This certainly brings up the point, we should stop worrying about how this happened, or how that happened, who’s to nlame… blah blah.
There are unfortunate people who we could be putting our energy’s into.
Something we all need to remember is that ONLY TOILET PAPER should be put in toilets.
Anything else will not degrade and WILL block the drains.
I think it is right for citizens to investigate and blame and hold accountable, through voting, legislation, education and free speech, any powerful people — political leaders — who have lied and failed to take action to stop preventable deaths. That’s essential to functioning democracy; it’s part of changing what we can change. (But we don’t need to discuss it on this forum with any specificity because I know there are minefields out there)
Yes I agree that is how democracy works.
Maybe after all the shit has calmed down.
To me it is a pointless waste of energy arguing about who should have done what and when.
We should be dealing with where we are now.
What about
Theres 652,000 people who live in Cambridgeshire. There are 7 reported cases.
I really hope that the people in charge of broadcasting this bullshit are held accountable in someway because the mass hysteria this has caused is just insane. It’s the fact that doctors, professionals, scientists, biologists and virologists are all putting the case facts across that it’s essentially just a rough flu but with a bit of care and consideration, you should recover just fine and not spread it… But the BBC in its Kay Burley-esque manner chooses to inflate the fucking terror scale to 11.
The biggest problem this virus has caused isnt the deaths. It’s the hysteria and mass panic and disruption its causee and I for one kinda hope the world slows down in a bit so I can get the hell off of it. The world has gone mad.
Mind you, I just did a driving lesson and the roads were pretty clear for it so I guess thats one good thing to come out of it.
That’s surprising! Most grocery stores around me were wiped out as soon as they restocked all their produce.
@anon12657779, there are going to be so many flooded toilets from paper towels and napkins, that was my first thought. Mostly because I live in a pretty old building and the plumbing sucks and wondered how much this will cost our HOA.
Oh Salty, there is always one.
TBH, what you do with that is up to you!
I can’t believe my spouse who suffers from anxiety is actually handling this very well. Go figure. My stepdaughters…not so well, but they have kiddoes to worry about.
I know it can be worrying. But there is enough information out there to say that the majority of people will be ok, even if they get the virus.
Kids especially can fight it off.
Unfortunately the herd mentality is to panic.
My skids r blowing up the family thread. My side of family…very little, but we have suffered through family turmoil and r probably more resilient.
Mandatory quarantine for 70+, yikes. Good thing I’m only 64 and can get out of house…leaving spouse home.
No, it’s not mandatory here. Hope it doesn’t get to that point in CA.
We’ve just had a government press conference. Everything just got a bit more serious…
Governor here said for any State employee who can work from home, should. My department just put an order in for laptops for us, in the instance they just have us do the same. Bars and restaurants have gone to carry-out/delivery only effective immediately.
Indeed, fair comment… Predictions are that 80% of the population may get infected, and maybe only 1-5% of the 20% - who need to stay home, isolate and sit out the nasty symptoms - will pass away because their general health and immunity is ‘compromised’.
“In an indication of the extent of the crisis, (16/03/20 BBC) Switzerland reported a leap in the number of infections by 800 to reach 2,200 in just 24 hours. The country has recorded 14 deaths.
Italy has borne the heaviest burden from the pandemic with 24,747 infections and 1,218 of its fatalities were recorded in one region, Lombardy, which is home to the business hub of Milan.”
These are seriously unusual and unprecedented figures, so imho we do need to listen, consider and weigh up the development of the pandemic.
The best, calm and collected, evidence - based, international voice for me is this retired UK nurse who continues to educate and present his realistic vision of what’s happening worldwide (BTW he predicted in January it would spread to international pandemic).
Stay well, look after your family and neighbours, if you have 48 toilet rolls and your neighbour has none, there’s some community spirit to think about
Schools are closed here.
Libraries are closed.
Some malls are closed.
Its a spiritual awakening guys!
We are breaking the system.
Breathe, and try to remain grateful.
