Thatā€™s awesome! We were lucky enough to get my kid into TK (transitional Kindergarten) last year. So this year in kindergarten he is literally the top of his class. His teacher has to give him and one other kid special assignments just because they are so far ahead of the other kids. And that other kid was in TK with Roland last year.

Oh snap. Forgot my friend shared their Disney+ with me. (Yeah, thatā€™s right, Disney.)

Burned through the Mandalorian. Wonder what else they gotā€¦

I stocked the important stuff.

To be clear, this isnā€™t hoarding. I figure itā€™s about a weekā€™s supply when weā€™re working from home next week.

This just came up in another conversation I was having.

Cancelling or modifying activities to reduce virus transmission is a good idea, but when I think of it as ā€œshutting downā€, it sounds like society malfunctioning, which is an unsettling thought.

But itā€™s not shutting down. Itā€™s not all coming to a halt, just slowing down. Like a power-save mode. Itā€™s not the usual state of things, but it is a natural one. Itā€™s a global and community-level ā€œcoping mechanismā€ that is meant for dealing with things like this, and it is doing its job. It has similarities to the way a phoneā€™s processor is designed to slow down (and thus generate less heat) if the temperature gets too high, in that itā€™s an adjustment that is happening by design, not malfunction.

Glad to see you and glad it is helpful. I worry for my elderly parents as well. At least I was able to convince my Mom not to work the polls on Tuesday.

Iā€™ve had some challenging conversation with them, getting the I canā€™t stop living response and having to emphasise that this is temporary and will keep you alive, even with my sisters but theyā€™re starting to get it and keep kids away, we havenā€™t shut schoolā€™s yet which is just insane, my sisters are all teachers too, hoping they do it this week. Holidays at the moment and due back on Wednesday.

I found this interview helpful and informative.
Albeit somewhat alarming

What is the meal? We donā€™t really have a traditional meal at home but like the idea of one. It will be a much more civilized St Patrickā€™s day this year :ireland:
