Soooo, let me make sure i’m getting this perfectly right… I’m completely irrational to fear for the health of my elderly and at risk family members?

Bc that’s all I hear from the nay sayers. Smh.

Sorry guys but it’s common knowledge. Not just “something I’ve heard” wow. I’m shocked at you lot. I’m not being racist or anything. Ibola was from eating fruit bats in Africa. At the market, conditions were shocking, bat meat was regularly sold “under the counter” just like “bush meat “ is banned from entering this country from Africa. As I first said. Don’t eat weird vermin & things like this won’t happen.

No, you are not. I also worry about my elderly parents (they are healthy and in their mid 80s, in the high risk group). My parents live nearby, so that is a plus for our situation.

At the end of the day, prevention is better than cure.

It is related to how they start though, but what’s the point in talking about that now, I agree. And they do come from other ‘reservoirs’ too.

But there also is a big focus on how ppl are overreacting. I think many ppl have very real and legitimate concerns.

Now that’s one thing that will kill us all. Any idea how important they are as pollinators?

Anyone planning to drink over this? Because if you do that’s an awful excuse. Even for an alcoholic.

Stepping out. This nonsense has absolutely zero to do with sobriety.

If it hit you and your family wouldnt you think that’s a stressor that might trigger you? I think that comment is extremely shortsighted.

I drank over way less. Except for the days that ended in y. Those were the real bastards.

Right? If anything, it’s helping me not drink

I feel like enemy No1. Even the Vegan’s hate me! :zipper_mouth_face:

Here’s the kicker. All excuses to drink are bad ones.

I’ve been through a lot of shit good and bad while sober, some much worse than this, and none of them have been a “trigger” for me to drink. Let alone an excuse.

Reasons I might drink over coronavirus:

I am holed up in my apartment so I am notexposed bc I am out of PTO and have a vacation coming up in May. Can’t risk exposure. Too much time on my hands with too little to do…

My mother is traveling with my young nephew the next 2 weeks. I’m very concerned.

My sister works at the school next to the 1st case in Frisco, TX. A teacher in her school lives in yhe neighborhood of the exposed. It is a very real possibility it could spread to my family.

If my family became ill it would be a trigger.

If a family member passed away, I’m not sure I could deal at all.

SMH.

Edit:

Because Ive used all my PTO, if I’m exposed and required to quarantine, I may lose 2 weeks pay at best, get written up or lose my job at worst.
