So I want to share the music I’m listening to now and I’d love some suggestions from the community, and I know there is a “what are you listening to now” thread about this, but for someone who is trying to abstain from mainstream social media, the YouTube links immediately (without asking permission) direct me to the links. Maybe my setting are set for that but that thread is unusable for me currently!
So if you’d like to suggest music on this post my only requirement is that you do not post YouTube links, just a screenshot of the album cover, Spotify link, or even just written out! I appreciate in advance for the inconvenience!
This is my most recent find, Conflict DLC by Health! An amazingly heavy dark synthwave-esque album. They are going on tour next year, and I’ve already got 3 family members wanting to go when they come to town!
This type of music the perfect combination of electronic and metal, with a touch of ethereal vocals just puts the cherry on top!
i wish you luck, but i’m not sure this thread is going to work, the other thread as been consistently active for more than 7 years or something. The meme thread is better, but this is a close second.
I don’t really get it though, you don’t want to be tempted by a YouTube link? There are many options to protect you from looping into social media, have you considered those? I don’t see how the links are an issue now , with many options to block or organize our phones in a way to prevent access.
Have you listened to Cold just dropped a new album that’s all electronic no vocal. Also, could you provide more of your taste? I’m pretty good at recommending

Well it’s not just the temptation that’s the issue. I’ve been off of social media for a few months now because I have a serious issue with “doomscrolling” and controlling how much screen time while scrolling. And for me YouTube is had to resist watching video after video after video, so I just choose not to partake! The other part of it is that when I click that other thread I can’t even scroll without it taking me to YouTube link, then I click back, scroll to the next post and boom it happens again, I’ve tried to get through the thread a couple times but it’s just too much work to click back every time I see a new post. So it’s a bit of both things!
Feel free to post here if you’d like, I would love new music suggestions from anyone! And thanks for the input!
Well I love electronic and metal genres, but I’d actually be more interested in what you enjoy listening to! Maybe a band you just found that you enjoy or a band that holds a place in your heart! Whatever works for me
Ahh! Well thanks to the handy dandy edit button, I corrected my original “links” statement to “YouTube links”, so yes, a Spotify link would be welcome!
My current top 3 are The Plot in You, Devil Wears Prada, and In Flames. Oh and Gemini Syndrome lol… Definitely lmk what ya think lol Also, you may have heard, Deftones new album (entire catalog really) is pretty amazing.
I looked up In Flames and found their Foregone album artwork I found to be really dope so I listened to a few songs and really liked “Meet Your Maker”!
Same with me and my art, gotta have a flow going for me to make things I really enjoy! I’ll try to post new music I find and old music I love here at least a couple times a week!
