Daily fitness check in 💪 (Part 2)

July 6th
Was unable to get a workout in yesterday :frowning: I was tired from doing the awake overnight shift with my son Sunday night and then had family pop by for a few hours before they left to go back to Manitoba. So no energy for exercise unfortunately.

July 7th
Went to the gym with my son for a cardio workout. Feeling pretty good! Did:

  • 30min of incline treadmill walk (saw something online about walking at a speed of 2.5 and doing 5min of incline 5, 5min of incline 8, 5 min of incline 10, 5min of incline 12, and then back down)
  • 15min of elliptical

I would guess around 20 to 30 or 45 euro for a super super cheap gym in Germany each month.

there is in my opinion also another way:

every months you can set personal goals.

for weights, jogging and whatever.

you have to commit hard to them!

buy some equipment. and then go for it.

or just sign up for the expensive gym.

Every invest In sport is worth it.

even if it’s 1000 euro per year..

who cares. it’s the price

there are also social projects and really cheap clubs! chekc them out to.

but a gym is always a nice thing

this is why it happened to him I think!

of course it can happen everyone.

but I think it was more likely that it happened to him. because of this obvious medical story right?

we should be thankful to be able to do sport. whatever sport it is.. we should enjoy it!

and of course we always have to adapt to the circumstances it is how it is

Holy cow! I pay 79€ per month. And I already thought that was quite much! Opened all day long (6:00-11:00 pm) with approx 25-30 classes every day. Don’t you have any low cost places?

Checking in - I went to a spinning class this afternoon. Yesterday they changed the bikes, and first I was excited, but dang… I got on one that was totally wrong calibrated! There was no way I could reach the power that was given by the instructor, I was always 20-30% below… that was a bit frustrating, but still a good class! :flexed_biceps:t2:

Glad to see you getting active and adding movement into your daily routine. I know it took me longer to get there at the beginning of my journey.

Love that classic line

Gym’s here can go from $ 15/ month with a $49 start up fee and a $49 annual membership fee which is most common for just weights and machines and few classes offered

My gym is a bit more upscale with massages / spa area. Sauna’s and hot tubs and pools as well as courts, machines, weights, classes etc Also has a shop and cafe. I was only interested in the pool and a CLEAN facility lol-- payment is $850 / 13 months which I calculate as a daily $$ and If I only go 300 days out of the 13 months I am still paying less than $3 / day. The gym also offers challenges each month where you can win cash and I was able to reduce my membership by $100 with prizes won over the year.

I do find nature to be free but also many routines available on YouTube that can give you a hell of a workout.

Anytime Fitness goes alright for approximately $20 per week. I’ve been to 5 or 6 different locations and all have been pretty good. Some busier than others but overall quite satisfactory

Off topic but I won’t derail… I often wonder the old timers of us here that all know each other from being here along time lol :joy: ( old timers as in been on here Along time lol )

When I see the words midwest USA , and when Eric @Dazercat posts photos in California , I’ve often wondered why don’t we ever set up house swap type holidays lol?

Remember the movie the holiday with jack black and Cameron Diaz where they do the house swap :joy:

I clearly like to think my life is a movie lmao

But there are so many of us on here that all know each other in length, it’s never occurred to me to make a thread on the idea ?!?

I do my punch bag workouts with videos on YouTube, and it’s really tough! Now that I’ve joined a gym I don’t do them as often, but once a week I try to hit the bag! The best psychiatrist ever!
