There can be such cute conversations. I did, however, have to wrestle a boogie out of his hand to prevent him from eating it :face_vomiting:

There was a black widow that set up its web adjacent to the hinge of my external door a month ago. Black widows are the one spider that does jeeve me out, and I did think about moving it somewhere else. But it inexplicably died a few days later, so I never got around to it. I think it’s still there in its web with its legs curled in.

From what I’ve heard, pretty much the only way to get a spider to choose biting you over running away is to try handling it or pressing against it, like if you roll over onto it in bed or something.

With that said, I’m glad the only poisonous creatures around here are the black widows and the rattlesnakes. Too cold for much else.

Black widows & rattlesnakes in BC?? Now I’m nervous to visit the SIL :scream: :joy: I think she’s somewhat in Nanaimo region

Thank you. Me too, although I may need a break from cake, have eaten quiet a lot these last few days!

I don’t think they have them there. The southern BC Interior is a bit unique, because relative to the rest of BC and Canada the summers are very warm and quite dry. Just a New Brunswick-sized pocket of the province, basically. In comparison, Nanaimo’s summers are a fair bit cooler and they get (quite literally) 5 times as much rain as we do here.

Some visual clarification, as the climate really does vary massively across the province.

Ahhh… Your photos make me want to visit! We have the dreaded brown recluse spider here in Texas. It likes to hide in shoes and get ya that way when you go to slip your foot in. Nasty things.

Confession: I had about 1/4 of a single layer cake last night and had a piece for breakfast this morning. But I’m not drinking. So it’s still a win. I should know better than to go near the bakery section of my grocery when I’m emotional and hungry. I come home with cake and ice cream.:roll_eyes:

In my third week sober and enjoying it, just need to get my arse into gear and start eating healthier and getti g right into exercise.

How are you?
