Made the decision to stop drinking and download this app for guidance and support. It’s affecting my health, my marriage, and work. Ive tried to stop several times but only lasted about 3-4 days as longest stretch. Hoping doing these check ins and read daily postings will keep me going!
Welcome!
My first day I did the same thing, got the app and came here.
If you can hit up some meetings, personally I find they really help.
Aside from that, stay strong and positive, you’ll get through this
I found this app by luck, but alongside my meetings this wise and accepting community has helped guide me and today is my 30 days of sobriety mark. In the beginning I thought this day was a tiny speck on my radar. An unattainable achievement but as corny as it sounds it really does get easier. The folks in here have been so supportive of me. There’s always somebody for us in here. Addict to addict. Day by day and minute by minute we can do this. Welcome
This has been the single biggest resource in my staying sober for the longest period in my adult life. Connection and understanding is everything, and it is in abundance here. Stick with it.
Hi Josh this is my first day too. I woke up with a raging headache and shame from yesterday so I am deciding no more. Then downloaded this app and feel the slightest bit of hope! good luck on your journey
@Jfdsimps that’s the first step to staying sober! It’s hard in the beginning for sure but keep it up and take one day at a time go to meetings if you have a sponser call them and check in daily just know your not alone.
Download that Easy Peazy method of quitting alcohol. This helped helped me quit my porn addiction!
Welcome Diana & welcome Josh @Jfdsimps - you’re starting a new chapter and that is wonderful news; it’s a good change and it is so worth the effort
There’s a strong community here of people walking their sober paths & there’s lots of sharing & learning. There’s an everyday check-in thread - it would be lovely to see you there:
Checking in daily to maintain focus #35
You are showing so much courage taking this first step. You’re brave and you matter: you’re a good person and you deserve a safe, sober life where you can be your full self. Never forget that
