Although I don’t see it humanely possible for me to move any faster through them lol. Maybe if I could have a 30 second break between sets but there was only a 5 second recovery left before jumping into round 13
Whaaaat?! What happened girl?? Girl, I don’t know whether to admire you or call you crazy maybe both geez you’ve had it rough this week!!!
I remember years ago I was with a trainer and I was feeling shit and unhappy with my performance and he could see I was getting emotional and upset.
He asked what was wrong and I said that compared to the other day, today I totally sucked!
He then asked me, “well when you arrived the other day, out of 10 how were you feeling?” And I said “9”.
He then said, “well, when you arrived today, rate how you were feeling.” And I said “maybe a 6…” and he said “why on earth then would you compare the 2 days?? All that matters is that you’re giving 100%. The result is based on how you’re feeling that day and the fact that you show up and do your best is all you can ask for. Its going to vary day to day. Some days feel shit. Some days rock. But never compare a 9 and a 6!”
I often think back to that conversation. Especially on days where I feel really low, unmotivated, tired etc. If I start to beat myself up over my time, pace or reps I remind myself that I am doing the best I can based on how I feel that day. That’s all that matters. And it really makes me feel better.
Looooooooong story short, you deserve to give yourself a mega high five
OK, 11 again. Managed to eek out 6 in the 12th minute, so, I improved. Actually didn’t feel great going in but better pacing saved me. It’s over. Happy Friday!
Wow I’ve just googled about it and that’s really interesting, never knew there was such a thing! Sorry you’ve gone through that though… do you know what the cause of yours was? How were they able to diagnosis it?
I’ve had discomfort in my neck on that side for at least 8 months. I think it’s because of my posture. When I had shoulder surgery last year (other side) I think I unconsciously changed the way I sit. I went and saw the physical therapist I had from surgery time and she moved some muscles around and massaged them to be less tense then she goes what this hard knob here and I’m like oh yea that’s been there for a while. I’m not sure what it is… she was like ummm… this is your rib. Then she starting putting pressure on it and I’m guessing she put it back in it’s place. I can move my neck more freely and she gave me some stretches to add to the ones I already do.
Challenge done! 10 rounds! I had 17 secs left, but no energy to start round 11. Next week I’ll give it another try! Now the regular challenge + 1 hour spinning class!
Done after my kettlebell workout. In between I had some peace with that I am not adding any minutes. I am more of a long xyz person. Slowly and steady. Slowly and steady ends around minute 8
Oi @Mephistopheles hope you haven’t forgotten about the burpees this week, because they’re waiting for you
You’ve been getting in a day early every week so I just thought I’d be helpful and give you a gentle reminder
I’m so proud of you for overcoming comparison!! Great job on that number!! That’s a ton of burpees. It’s all in fun but I’m competitive too so I know that mindset is hard to break.
