I’ve already modified it (just now). Total Craving Score(TCS) for today is 3x3 + 2x5 = 19
Did I mention I’m a nerd?

NERD is greatly appreciated these days and always welcome at my table.
And now you’ve even defined a new KPI (key performance indicator) so you can track actuals against target, absolutely loving this!
I’m sorry… why is this in seeking help, exactly? It’s nicotine. I vape nicotine while writing on the forum right now. Should all my posts be in seeking help? Should I leave the forum because I’m ‘under the influence’ right now? Should every member using nicotine pouches, gums and patches post in seeking help? If nicotine counts as under the fucking influence, then I gotta stop posting, clearly.
I’m sorry, @Dirk , you made a terrible call. Maybe you could stop playing mod for 5 minutes.

@Amy30 tone is not helpful @Dirk was trying to assist
This forum is a safe place for lots, lets try and keep it that way please
Yes, the forum should be a safe place. Here, we have a new member asking for help and they were immediately sent to seeking help for ‘actively using’ and told talking about active use is not allowed on the forum. That’s not welcoming and the type of attitude that scares people off.
There are many types of addictions here, including sugar. Should pictures of chocolate go in seeking help?
My tone represents how annoyed I am. This is the type of thing that makes me feel unwelcomed. Whatever you think about nicotine, using pouches is not, by any stretch of the word ‘under the influence.’
Hey Amy,
as the OP is openly discussing moderation I also believe the post belongs into that category. The difference here is about the discussion. Discussing moderation and use can be triggering for some, that’s what the category ‘Seeking help’ in my opinion is for.
Yes, I have taken crazy pills and woke up in a dystopian hell. It’s nicotine. The op is using it to quit smoking. It’s a cessation tool, not moderation and you successfully scared a new member off. Well done.
By this logic, the coffee thread should be moved here. And the food one, that’s clearly talking about moderation of… food and sweets.
I moved this part of the discussion to derailment. I feel we all got sidetracked here. @Amy30 If you want to discuss this topic in more detail, please do open a new thread.
Hi @Amy30 - thanks for taking the time to provide feedback, I appreciate it
When I saw the OP’s post appear, I wasn’t quite sure what kind of DOC Zyns is and I did not want to solely rely on Google so I asked them for feedback. Also, the OP clearly mentions being banned from other forums and I wanted to avoid them having a similar negative experience here as a result of accidentally breaking the rules.
It was only when the OP confirmed it was nicotine and another regular confirmed that discussing active use is not allowed in the main forum that I decided to change the category labeling of the post. @Mno kindly suggested that the OP would need to actively opt into the ‘Seeking Help’ category in order to see further responses to their post, so I went and dug up the link needed to opt in (I think, it may in fact be an opt-out instead) and immediately sent that to the OP via DM with an explanation as to why opt-in might be required. For full transparency, here is that DM message:
Last but not least, I tried (unsuccessfully, I admit) to highlight the OP and my uncertainty over whether I’d done the right thing to the @moderators so they could adjust as necessary asap.
I hope you have a wonderful sunny day ,
Dirk
P.S.:
We don’t know the gender of the OP so I would appreciate everyone using ‘they/them’ pronouns until we do.
P.P.S.: as I wrote in my original response to the OP, I tried nicotine pouches once and was definitely under the influence as a result. One may say that this is something you get used to if you use nicotine more regularly, but then again, the same goes for any other DOC, right?
My apologies for how I worded my disagreement. It wasn’t fair to vent my frustrations on you.
Yup, that’s my bad. I used they/them in my first post,
I don’t know why I didn’t on the thread. Changed it now.
No need to apologize at all, I know all too well how easily frustrations can spill onto ‘paper’.
