Enjoy sobriety

Hi well for years now i have always been fascinated with graphite drawing i truly admire the fantastic work people create with this art.
I’m definitely not an artist by any means but Recently i have my own time and practice every night before bed. There are so many free lessons teaching techniques on the web .
With my new found sobriety it has given me so much clarity so more patient and kind to myself. Every night prior to bed time its amazing learning shading atm . Hope maybe this may inspire someone to a hobby , interest that they thought they can’t do well you can. I never miss a night sometimes longer than other sessions but an absolute must for me and hey i sleep so much better.
Thanks and be kind to yourself because your worth it it also settles the mind from wandering too.

Expressing yourself through art is awesome Tony!

For me art is therapeutic, allowing me to unburden myself of the stress of the day and even combat cravings! I found it to be a healthy distraction when times got tough when I first got sober, and still remains a great tool on my sober toolkit.

If you’re comfortable/interested in sharing what you are working on, the thread below is a great place to share art of all kinds!

An artist is simply one that has desire to create, and creates.

Its ok to admit to being one, perfection and skill is not a measure.

I’m incredibly happy to read you’re practicing. Much joy and learning will result.
