I don’t eat candy in general except maybe at Halloween, but black licorice can go fuck itself.

So much hate for Candy Corn. It has to be Brach’s brand. Other brands are too plasticy and definitely gross. If you eat them with roasted peanuts they taste just like a salted nut roll. Freaking good. You all have crappy taste buds.
And circus peanuts? They’re basically just a dense marshmallow. Who doesn’t like that. Sure they’re not something I love, but if it was the only candy I got that week, I’d appreciate it.
I also happen to love black licorice. Granted though, there is a ridiculously large array of black licorices out there. We liked the German Licorice brands, but the Netherland Black Licorice was so gross we almost gagged and had to spit it out. Sorry @Mno

I’m gonna have to try this! I’ve always been ambivalent about candy corn in general. No hate, but also not my first choice. I do like nut rolls though!

Reese’s were my favorite as a kid too. We’d go around with our neighborhood friend who was allergic to peanuts so me and my brother could trade what we didn’t want and split what he couldn’t eat.

Our Smarties are quite different. Candy coated chocolate. Similar to M&Ms. But natural dye, not artificial. I carry the family tradition of decorating cakes with them like my mum 
…

She’d make several types of cakes, but this was one. And “money cake”! We thought we’d hit the jackpot if we got the one quarter coin in the cake

I’m loving this thread! So fun to read ! I grew up I. The 60s when kids roamed entire neighborhoods completely safe from harm… we hung out in our little gangs and Halloween and Devils Night were innocent and harmless. No adult supervision either night, though the expectation was that older sibs would watch out for younger sibs, kinda….
We carried pillow sacks to haul our bounty, none of those dorky plastic pumpkins or paper bags.
Favorite candy… anything chocolate.
Worst was those little boxes of raisins. I mean, come on! Raisins are NOT candy! Didn’t like those dumb red delicious apples we got on occasion either…
